YOUR husband is a cop and he drives a COP CAR? LOL,
OK since your husband is a Police Officer and he drives a Cruiser daily he does need or should have a voice activated recorder. If you go to an office supply store you should be able to find one there. If not then try a local radio supply store. And there ARE Police supply store that you can also check with a company out of Ky. They have a web site address of WWW.galls.com. THEY DO have several recorder kits. Good Luck and tell your husband to stay safe. And he is a Police Officer. NOT a cop. Unless of course your from London. Then he might be a COP - Constable on Patrol

When choosing a voice recorder, make sure it has a mike that can attach to his collar or somewhere. They pick up less ambiant noise than the ones that are just built into the body of the recorder. Also, consider whether you want to go digital or stick to cassette tape. Digital is better quality, but, most don't allow for a detachable memory module, so when it's full, he'll either have to delete something, or else figure out a way to transfer it. If you go digital, make sure it's got a connector that will let him download it to his hard drive on a computer. This is why cassettes are still popular...when one is full, pop it out and put another in.

Piggrumpy is correct. I have purchased them from http://www.galls.com . They have an excellent selection. Radio Shack has some as well, but Galls is a police equipment site with items suited for law enforcement.

Go to Radio Shack and get one from them. Our department got some from them and we are more than happy with them!
