Christians: what do you think about the history of forcing beliefs on "inferior" people, who had their own gods much longer than christianity existed.

or walking into a marketplace with a backpack bomb?

or mixing liquids on a plane and exploding it over the atlantic?

Actually your story was the "pagan" peasant martyring St. Henry patron-saint of Finland.

Noone can be forced to believe.

But we cannot judge people from another age without knowing their mindset.

Partly this was done for political reasons and national stability.

I don't think it is very respectful. They have no evidence that their beliefs are more valid than others, except their book "says so." These other groups could just as easily also have their own sources.
