Don't stay in bed. Get up and do something. When you are tired enough you'll sleep.

If this happens only just a few times in a month or year. And you were thinking of something, in a deadline or just feeling energetic and not tired. Just get up and try to do something until you feel sleepy.

If this happens always or often go see a doctor. You may have insomia or really stressed badly

get up watch some tv,read a book,do some light housework or take a hot shower, see if any of these make you sleep enough to go back to bed

A) Medication/ alcohol

b) consentrate on something that will calm you down. Count to 1000

c) go for a walk or a drive

take a warm shower 1hr before you go to bed
and drink fresh milk
it has protein that can induce sleep
