Did you know from recent study that potty training at 6 months of age is a good time to start potty training
If a child is still on a shi ty diaper than the parents should go to jail and be sterilised.

I think it all depends on the kid. I mean if you can get him/her pottie tranied then thay may need to stay in some type of diaper. Other wise your be cleaning up a lot of messes. So I think it depends on the parents and the kid. There are a lot of kids who were diapers longer then 2 yrs. I would have to agree that 2 yrs old is a good age to start pottie trining. Then you just have to keep with it and hope you kid catches on and no more diapers for them.

Wow. Y'all must be super parents to have all your children completely potty trained by age 2! These days, most kids don't start potty training until they're at least 2 years old. In fact, recent statistics show that at least a third of all American children are still in diapers after their third birthday. Developmentally, kids are all over the map: Some kids are ready and eager to start as early as 18 months, while others show zero interest until they're 3 or 4.

I think the answer to that will depend on who you ask. If you are talking about a girl, then 2 to 2 1/2 isn't too early to try potty training, but if you are talking about a boy, it isn't unusual for a bot to be 3 to 3 1/2 before potty training. Boys in general take longer and are slower to develop in that area because their bladders don't develop as quickly for some reason.

Then there are some of us, who are unfortunately medically incontinent and have to wear diapers 24 / 7 even as adults, but I don't think you have that problem yet.

Good luck.

I think they should be fully potty trained by their 3rd birthday. 3 1/2 would be OK to wear a diaper or training pants at night only, but they should be wearing underwear during the day.

Do you even have children? Or have you potty trained a large number of children before?

I would not put a specific limit on it, as each kid needs to learn at his own pace. But two years is the general accepted age.

My boys begun potty training at 1, and had it down pat... and then several weeks later, reverted back. So we started again, and twice more did they revert. They finally had it completely down, without accidents, by the time they were about 3.

Each kid is an individual case, and must be treated as such. If it takes a little longer, no big deal, just spend more time practicing. If it's quicker, great. Just remember no one truly expects their kid to be just like the next kid.

No more than 2 or 2 1/2 years old. Any longer than that and you know the mother is not doing her job.

It depends on how lazy the parents are. Potty training takes effort so if the parents don't take the time the kid could be 4 and in diapers. My sister worked in a preschool and there were 3&4yr olds that weren't toilet trained.

Yeah 2 years is pushing it. I believe that a child over a year old should start to be taught to wear pullups and then graduate to the potty.

Once the child starts taking the diaper off him/herself becuase they know they don't have to be wet or soiled...it's time for underwear. This usually starts between 11/2 - 2 years.
