earthquake thoughts?

what's it mean when i sometimes have a thought in my mind that an earthquake is going to strike at anytime? Is it just a phobia i have? Sometimes the thought will pop into my head, for no reason. It doesn't have any trigger. It just happens.

of course, you realize earthquakes happen all the time, right? just most of them never make the news because they're not severe

many people think you can focus these thoughts to where they become premonitions instead of general fears: you either train whatever it is that's causing the thoughts, or you train yourself how to filter those thoughts, or both

if you (or someone about whom you feel a significant emotional bond) spend significant time on or near a fault or in an area likely to suffer collateral damage from a significant earthquake, you're more likely to have such feelings

on the fringe:

a very small fraction of the population believes thoughts can cause natural events such as weather and/or seismic phenomena; most of the religious community considers such attemps to be consorting with demons

as long as you're neither possessed by demons nor predisposed to wish harm on others (thus making you an ideal candidate for demon influence apart from outright possession), that shouldn't be a problem for you

I do that too. I figure I do it because I was in a really bad one once that was followed by a tsunami. It was a real long and scary one. Were you ever in an earthquake that would make you feel that way?
