Evil
Why is there so much evil in the world? That isn't an easy question to answer; I have pondered it for many years, and I still don't know the full answer. But I do know this: God is real—but so is Satan, and the evil we see all around us comes from him, not from God. It also comes from the sin and rebellion of our own hearts. The Bible says, "God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed" (James 1:13-14).

Someday the warfare between good and evil—between God and Satan—will be over, and Christ will emerge victorious. In fact, the decisive battle has already been fought. It happened when Jesus Christ conquered sin and death and Hell by dying on the cross for our sins and then coming back to life by God's power.

In the meantime, God calls us to be faithful to Himself, and never give in to evil or sin. Is your hope in Christ? And are you seeking to live for Him every day? Don't give in to despair, but set your sights on Christ's victory.

Hurricane Katrina (for example)
I don't know why God let this awful catastrophe happen; as I often say, only in heaven will we fully understand why God allowed terrible things like this to take place.

But I do know this: God cares very deeply about every person whose life has been touched by this tragedy. In the midst of their suffering and hardship, God has not abandoned them, and He wants to assure them of His presence. Many of them have lost everything they owned except the clothes on their back&mdaash;but God still spared their lives, and He wants to give them hope for the future. They can truly say with King David in the Bible, "He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters" (Psalm 18:16).

One of the ways God has shown His care for the victims of this tragedy is through the compassion of others. We have seen an outpouring of concern and financial help that is unprecedented in our history. The Bible promises, "A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed" (Proverbs 11:25).

I hope we will continue to pray for those whose lives have been disrupted by this terrible disaster. And may this event remind each of us of the brevity of life, and the need to build our lives on Christ.

The bloodshed and troubles in the world have been caused by everyone thinking his god is better than anyone else's.
The better question would be is religion still relevant to the world, because it is religion that is causing a LOT of damage right now.
I think we need to wake up and realize that we're all in this together.

Genesis is the first book of the Bible, and it states that He has left us to our own devices to a certain extent. We chose for that to happen. Genesis tells the story of Adam and Eve being in a the garden of Eden where they live pretty peacefully with God. They're only given one rule and, of course, they break it. He basically tells them that if they would rather do things their own way that He'll let them. This world we live in is the result of doing things our own way.

There's this really cool writer named Rob Bell. He says that the Adam and Eve story isn't so much about something that happened, it's about something that HAPPENS - here, now, every day. God didn't tell us how to live because He wanted to be strict. He told us how to do things because He knew that doing them any other way wouldn't go well for us.

This doesn't mean that He isn't there for us. Jesus came for a few different reasons, but one great reason was to teach us (or maybe remind us) to try to bring heaven here, now, today, and everyday. That's the only way that things can get better. We have to realize that there's enough food, air, land, medicine, and everything else that we need to go around. Instead of seperating into countries and social classes and relying on money, we need take care of each other - support one another, and love each other without keeping one another down. Imagine how great our world could be if we did these things. Who is it that tells us we can't?

No he isn't. god was invented by prehistoric man in an attempt to try and understand the world. Now science is doing that with much more accurate means by studding the world and finding the truth. So we have no more need for god and soon theism will die out. And then there will be much less bloodshed. Say no to jesus

I love all these people who say "yes everyone needs god" then leave it at that not bothering to say way we all need an imaginary friend who doesn't want us to try and understand the world.

Actually the Bible describes perfectly that war and famine and hardship must come before Jesus comes back, so these things are not a surprise to Christians. God is not some santa figure who gives us nothing but good, He is like a father who gave us the rules for right and wrong but can only sit back and let us make our own mistakes. He cries at the state of the world and I'm guessing it won't be long before He comes back. God has not deserted me anyway, He healed me of depression and changed me from the inside into a better person, He answers me in times of trouble and if I keep praying through the hard times, blessings follow. I don't know how I coped with life before He opened my heart and eyes to Him and His limitless patience and love.

Good question. Although I am not a christian, or a follower of any other religion . Here are some thoughts. God in whom I believe, is not responsible for the horrors which have beset mankind. According to popular belief God gave man free will. That is to say that man is allowed to do as he pleases with what he has been supposedly given or able to create. Therefore the only being responsible for the actions of mankind, is man himself. It is self serving of mankind to sherk his responsibility for his problems and blame all of the bad things he does on God in whatever form he believes. This allows man to act in horrible fashion, and say "Oh well it was God's doing or fault. With respct to God leaving us to our own devices that is exactly the result that free will yields. Bloodshed and conflict (war or otherwise) is mankinds fault ,God is not on one side or the other. My belief is that God created the worlds. Some of them he made inhabitable. The inhabitants of this world and others, are directly responsible for their actions and their fate. They and they alone will either come to realize this and make the best of it, or they will carry on as mankind always has, and bring on his own ultimate demise. Then it won't matter if God is still relevant at any time. God in whatever form he/ she/ it is manifested simply created the world and life it is up to all lifeforms to be responsible for their fate. Therefore the term act of God applies to only the creation of the worlds.

The troubles in the world today and in fact much of the trouble in the world for the past 2000 years have resulted from peoples' different beliefs in religion. That of course is not God's fault, but nevertheless religion lies behind just of the strife.

Everything is so bad and getting worse because Satan is causing it all to take people away from worshipping God. But soon God will take action and throw Satan into an abyss and wipe out all the wickedness in the world. His purpose was for earth to be a paradise and that has never changed. Don't you know in the holy book (al-Quran) says that earth is a place to test how strong you are. So you should be able to solve the problem alone with the help of God. Earth is not a paradise. Don't you understand?
