Yes, although only over time and careful (unreasonable?) cleanliness. And even then it often returns.
That's with the right medication.
My Dad has suffered with it all his adult life, despite powdering his socks and washing his feet in medicated soap daily.
I myself used to suffer after a long walk. I had picked it up doing cross country in my teens.

HOWEVER, I have not suffered from either athletes foot, nor 'grot rot' (sorry - don't know how else to describe it) after washing my hair in a particular brand of anti-dandruff shampoo.
It's not over the counter but prescription, Nizoral is the name but I'm sure others have the same ingredients
I washed my hair with it, sitting in the bath, then washed my hands in the bath, sat reading for 10mins. as advised. Then rinsed. When I got out, I noticed immediately the 'grot rot' had gone, and have not been bothered with athletes foot ever since.
Since they are all fungal infections, it makes some kind of weird sense.
Strangely I still get an itchy head if I go camping and forget to wash.

Athletes foot can carry on continuously it variety of feels. sure, it enables to take an entire direction of therapy. maximum individuals provide up the drugs after a pair of days whilst the indications advance, yet plenty longer is had to knock it out. long term an infection will often effect in nail an infection, it incredibly is plenty greater stable to knock out and demands oral therapy with Lamisil or comparable product for fairly it sluggish. i think of part of the subject is, human beings used to placed on leather-based footwear that had leather-based soles, and no guy made factors in them. They breathed alot greater effectual. Now even leather-based footwear, have guy made soles and insoles, which do no longer breath nicely, and shop moisture there. shoes are fairly undesirable. Going barefoot or donning completely organic breathable footwear could be superb. i do no longer comprehend that foot powders have been shown. there's a minimize to how plenty moisture they are able to suck up. If in basic terms envisioned to assist for a quick time, i'm confident they help, and any antifungal components in them, might help to dissuade the fungus from becoming. additionally, completely organic socks like cotton or wool might breath greater effectual than those with severe content cloth of synthetics.

for you or for everyone.
for yourself, take care of the problem with the proper meds, then keep your feet clean, dry, and exposed to as much air as possible. Change socks & shoes daily. And don't walk barefoot in public places: hotel rooms, showers, pools, gyms, etc.
