True peace comes from Jesus - the one and only. Put your faith in him, and you'll discover true peace.

Peace out!

No we can't achieve peace through war. True peace will come when Jesus returns if, and only if you are a believer. If you are not, you will know misery and eventual spiritual death which is permanent death. War is the way we will live until He comes. There is always someone wanting what another has, such as oil and very large sandboxes to play in.

True peace, will hopefully come in our next life. If true peace is the furthest point to one side of a scale, while true conflict/war is the furthest point in the opposite direction, reaching either point would result in something far worse, then trying to balance both.

So long as living creatures require certain things, have a will to survive, differ in nature and grow in number, nothing will be absolute.
Don't forget, we're still animals. We have the ability to create and destroy. Peace is usually in reference to war. However, simply eliminating war wouldn't result in world or true peace.
World War II was thought to be the "War to end all Wars". Hitler was making life anything but peaceful throughout Europe. British, French, Russians and the US all initially appeased Hitler, thinking he would invade Poland, then end his hostile ways. Appeasing Germany's invasion, only fueled the hostility. Japan & Italy teamed with Germany, spreading War throughout the World.
Wars occur for certain reasons, usually based on human emotions, right or wrong. You have something I want or need, I want to take it from you, you'll fight me to keep it. It could be loved ones, land, resources, money, power, freedom, lifestyle, anything worth having, anything worth protecting, including Peace.
We try to live peaceful lives in the US, but everyday people die of natural and unnatural/crime related causes.
We have cars, boats, planes, trains, motorcycles, etc. No man or man made machines are perfect. Fatal accidents happen everyday, they aren't peaceful for the victims, their families or those who caused them.

True peace would require everyone to think the same, act the same, talk the same or not at all, eat the same, work the same job, have the same possessions, eliminate everything competitive, including: sports, tests, games, positions of power, make no decisions, have no objections. Even worse, become completely emotionless, No more hate, fear, greed, jealousy, compassion, joy, creativity, excitement, no more Love, no desire to live...
It might be possible in a perfect world(whatever that means), but everyone and everything we know, has imperfections. Even the definition/idea of "perfect" varies greatly.
As World population grows, so grows the need for living essentials; food, fresh water, resources, land, etc. As Humans use more and more, other species get less and less.
We know peace, because we know conflict/war. We know good times because of bad times. Right/Left, Happiness/Sadness, Right/Wrong, Agreement/Disagreement. Love/Hate.

Peace can be esablished only though change of mind. All religion preach peace not hate. Tolerance and solving basic issues will reduce the risk od war which is not a solution. However, criminal activities should be dealt with iron hands.

when everyone figures out that violence is not the way. obviously the eye for an eye comandment is still in play in this world. true peace will come when God comes to stop it all and when he judges everyone based on their actions. Unfortunately a lot of the wars are caused because of religion so its sort of a paradox

World Peace is not an unreachable dream. It can be attained... by giving... not by taking! If the 'want mores' can learn to appreciate what they already have; and the 'haves' can help the 'have nots' to become 'haves'... World Peace will be well within our reach!

My Declaration of Peace

I do hereby declare my belief that all human beings (irrespective of their gender, race, religious beliefs, or community stature) have the right to live in peace, in a healthy environment, free from authoritarian and/or corrupt leadership;

I deplore the use of military force for any purpose other than in genuine self-defence; with sufficient force only being used as deemed necessary to ensure self-protection, in a manner which minimises loss of life, and damage to the environment;

I call on the United Nations Organisation to view with utter contempt, the massing of military forces aimed at the invasion or intimidation of any nation; and to declare such massing of military forces to be both illegal and immoral;

I call on the United Nations Organisation, through the use of International Courts of Justice, to act as a mediator in any known or reported instances of atrocity (past and present) where people are denied basic human rights; to take whatever action is deemed necessary (without force unless all alternate means have been exhausted) to restore the dignity and basic human rights of all people throughout the world;

I call on all wealthy nations of the world to work in unison with the United Nations Organisation, with a view toward helping the people of impoverished countries attain an acceptable standard of living that allows them a dignified existence;

I implore all wealthy nations of the world to wherever possible, free impoverished nations of the responsibility of debt repayment.

My Prayer for Peace

Dear God...
whom through different eyes, all man see...
I pray to you for 'peace'.
Weapons are drawn to the ready,
with 'fingers' itching to pull.
Brother is aiming at brother,through eyes that see hate and fear.

Dear God...
I ask, you close those eyes,
so my brother can see through his heart.
Place mirrors between each brother,
so their 'targets' they can learn to love!!!

inner peace comes through acceptance of self. i'd like to believe that world piece will be achieved through acceptance as well. the only way war will bring piece is if it annihilates everyone and the last people standing have to stick together to live.

World peace through human efforts is impossible, given the condition of human nature. I do believe it is possible to achieve peace, create your own utopia, as it were, through faith in God.

When everyone wakes up from the veil that religion has cast upon the majority of the world. Most wars fought are over religious differences, the day we get rid of religion, things will progress, its that simple. WAKE UP!!!!!

the only way we will see true peace is through tyrannical oppression. It's true. People are not going to agree, it just isn't going to happen. Ideologies focus on the differences instead of the commonalities.
