It seems as though black people are racist against whites for them being really racist in the past. Now they aren't but they still get called racist. Do you agree?

I totally agree!! ....and it seems like it's totally OK for a black to be racist against a white, but switch that one around and UhOh....all hell breaks loose. It is a terrible double standard and i'm sick of it. It's plain ignorant no matter where it's coming from.

also, people tend to call certain comments and observations "racist" when it's not...that word gets thrown around wayyyyy too freely these days.

Racism is not just black and white. Its, I’m right your wrong between any culture, race or religion. In today’s sociality there is too much racism in to many forms. I knew a black woman (a teacher) who was racist not just against white, but also black females only. I knew a teacher who was scholastically racist just because a student forgot a pencil in school (saying he will be a jail house adult because he was unprepared, that guy is in the military now) I was treated racist because I am a military kid who once lived in a none military town, just because my family had been stationed in Germany and England and I was called nazi and foreign traitor. Heck I’m not even white by birth. I look white, but I’m a Heinz 57, which means I have many nationalities in me. To many to count, but I was born in America. There is one thing I don’t like most of all is the fact that people use the treatment their ancestors got as their excuse to be angry at people today. As if a teen born in the past 20 years had anything to do with what happen to relatives that were born 40-60 years ago or longer. That’s not just blacks who do that either. Many gangs us that when they don’t get what they want and take by force. Some teens use that excuses when they don’t get the help they want for school or a job. Yes there is still racism in the work place and that is wrong. But don’t punish and be angry at the multitudes for the actions of the few. If you feel racism happen to you no matter your color, race or religion stand your ground and fight it the right way. Not in anger or mistreatment toward those who didn’t do the racism toward you in the first place. If you have a friend that this is happen to and not you specifically help them thru it and work on the problem of who did the racism not what they are as a populist (if the culprit was white and the person mistreated was black. Don’t take anger out on all whites) the lord wants us all to get along.

Yeah, I think you're right. Many blacks do seem racist towards whites. Slavery was a terrible thing, and it's really time to put it behind us so our nation can heal. I'm glad that everyone has the same opportunities now. I work with some guys from Africa, and they are quite happy about the opportunities they have in this country. They don't know why white people are blamed for all of the problems in this country.

THE TEN THINGS YOU CAN'T SAY IN AMERICA

Larry Elder says and proves what no one else will:

1. Blacks are more racist than whites
2. White condescension is as real as black racism
3. The media bias: it's real, it's widespread, it's destructive
4. The glass ceiling: full of holes
5. America's greatest problem: illegitimacy
6. The big lie: our healthcare crisis
7. The welfare state: helping us to death
8. Republicans vs. Democrats: maybe a dime's worth of difference
9. Vietnam II: the war on drugs, and we're losing that one too
10. Gun control advocates: good guys with blood on their hands

Elder names names, presents facts and evidence, and sets the record straight. This former attorney argues that we must all take a series of urgent steps in order to redirect American society toward moral and financial success. He offers a cohesive and practical agenda to effect change, including reforming our intrusive government.

Hey, that's a good train of thought you're on..... keep thinking about it, and you'll eventually come to the same conclusion that I reached a while back : You don't have to be white to be racist!

Racism can be defined as bigotry against any person solely on race or skin color. Basically, when anyone discriminates against or generalizes a person, or a group of people, based on race, that itself is racism.

You think whites aren't still racist? I do believe there's been a sharp rise in the use of the word "******" over the last 2 years. I've seen elementary school children say it..... tragically, I might add.

Not only that, but thanks to television, there are a lot of people, most notably comedians, adding to the race problem. Nowadays, people call it "reverse discrimination" or "white discrimination" where apparently, it's the IN-THING to be any race but white.

This is not a step forward, this is a step backwards for our society... Rather than integrating as ONE American body, we seem to be constantly segregating ourselves.

How many black comedians make jokes about the differences between blacks and whites? How many Hispanic comedians make references and jokes from hispanic archetypes, applied to every day lives of typical hispanics? Almost all of them.

Take Carlos Mencia.. when he makes a Mexican joke, it's hilarious, but coming out of anybody else's mouth, it's dangerously racist. Same thing with Dave Chappelle...

So, yes, blacks do discriminate against whites, and whites still discriminate against blacks. It's just how it is, unfortunately.

I can't say much on the subject, but someone who can, and quite eloquently, is Bill Cosby (I'm not kidding, Bill Cosby's been saying what I've been saying and MORE for decades now)

For most people, the use of race is still offensive, and a sharp tool for attacking others without having to use any original thought. It's sad that people don't have the mental capacity to insult each other properly anymore..... they just lazily hurl racial epithets at each other and call it a day.

I'm white and when I was in high school, the majority of my school was black. In fact,we only had 5 white kids in my graduating class. And I can honestly say,I NEVER experienced any form of racism.Never.And trust me,I am really white. And I went out with white guys.I was actually married to a white guy my senior year. And he wanted me to change schools. Why?Some of my best friends were black. As a matter of fact,my very best friend was black.See,too many people put to much emphasis on skin color.Just because you don't look the same does not mean you're not all human.People get scared of things they aren't sure about and are uncomfortable with.If only every race would realize that all people are the same inside. But that will probably never happen.

Truthfully,I can't blame any black person for being weary of white people. If you had a history of abuse behind you, you'd be not very trusting either.I know thats not at all our faults today.I can't help what my ancestors did.I can only make sure I never act like that. And there are still plenty of white racists still in this world.Don't believe me?Come to North Carolina.Stuff like that is inbred in families for centuries. No,I don't think it's fair for anybody to automatically be assumed a racist, solely by the color of your skin.I think all races have racism issues. But if I had to pick the most racist,I would still have to pick my own race, white.Just look at the avators on here, most of the racist ones are white. Not saying that they could be using different color skin tones than their own...hell,I don't know.

I agree but also disagree, there are still some white racist people and black racist people,i just wish people will stop living in the past and stop showing horrible things that happened in the past cause it just triggers racism again on the younger generation.

Well, it's a difficult situation. White people generally want to forget it completely and they don't acknowledge. Black people constantly bring it up and play the race card. I was in the army, saw it everyday. I would'nt use the word racist though, just hard headed.

Yes, many "black" people are racist. They have no problem categorizing people. Many hate other "black" people. The constant overuse of the term "n/i/g/g/a" is a blatant reminder of past wrongs.

I find that every race is racist. Maybe some more than others, but not all people are for affirmative action and always spouting about retribution and calling white people crackers.

some people just make their race look bad.

sometimes yes. but just an example from work last year.a black female colleague of mine took grave offence at another colleague, as she had described a chinese girl as chinese!!!she said "you wouldn't say a white girl was white would you?"it was horribly ridiculous. by this example you can see how black people sometimes look ONLY for racism in whites, and do not see all the good that's going on in our world now vis a vis race and equality.but there's lots of racism out there still, we must all remember that and unite to eliminate it.
