Nicer is too vague to comment on. What is nice? Instead I would have you focus on becoming happier. If you are happy I think you would be as nice as you want to be, or as little for that matter. Follow your bliss. It sounds corny, but try not to worry about the outcome as much. If ur only focused on your bad hair day youll never notice the cutie whos lonely and would kill to have your attention even if just for a minute at the crosswalk. Sometimes its really not about charity or smiles, it can really be just whats going on in your head. Seize the moment, sing, dance, run to the parking lot, just whatever makes you feel better than you were 10 seconds ago. Do that and you wont have to worry about nice. Cheers

I think that you have to be sincerely interested in other people. If you see someone who looks down and out, just look them in the eye and smile. Say, how are you, or beautiful day, (if it is of course). There are a lot of hurting people in this world and all they need is to feel like they are worthwhile, that someone is saying hello, or asking them how they are? It goes a long way, especially with older people. Go to a nursing home and visit, and just talk, you will feel like you are the greatest person in the world. I think if you are married to remember the birhdays and anniversaries. Flowers are wonderful. If you are in the school and younger, just don't talk behind your friend's back, and don't gossip, you will not have to cover yourself when it gets back to your friend. If you are a girl, tell you boyfriend he looks nice, or if you a boy, the same thing. Don't just jump the bones, have some intimate, caring and loving moments. Be tender, and you will develop and real relationship and love. It is best to learn these things now, and don't cheat, if you want to date others, just call it quits. This is something that will haunt you all your life, if you take this up and think it won't hurt anyone, it will cost you everything and a family. Get with God and ask Him to guide you in your life. There are so many temptations, and evil, you really need all the help you can get, REALLY. JUST TRY IT. . .

Be nice to people even if you don't think highly of them. These girls were so mean to this chick at my school with this long oily red hair and thick glasses today. They kept singing the I don't like Mondays song. I felt so bad for her. Remember its how you treat your inferiors not your equals that counts(Harry Potter!).
Do random and nice stuff for people, like if they've been sick for a while make them muffins once they return to school/work, tell them the latest goss, and let them know how much you've missed them.
Always be polite and courteous of others. The golden rule-treat others how you would like to be treated. Respect those that are different to you, whether it is race, religion or if they have a mental illness or something. They are no different to you in a way, just souls stuck in different bodies. It could be you.
Smile. A smile can change the world.
Help out when you can.
Make donations to places like the Salvation Army, World Vision or the Cancer Society. You never know whose live this could save.
Goodluck!

To be a nicer person:
1) Not to expect any rewards from those you have showered kindness to.
2) To control emotions better.
3) To try to help whenever you can.
4) To treat friends with sincerity.
5) To pay kindness with gratitude.

Don't let the negative get you down, look for the positive things in a situation and always keep on smiling. You can't get upset about things that aren't going your way or when others are obviously being the one in the wrong. I believe nicer people are happier peope in the long run.

Actually, asking this question could be the first step. Look and deal with others from their point of view. If this errodes value from your self; disengage quitely. Try not to harm others by your actions. Take feed backs. Be good to yourself. An unhappy person is a social risk. Show concern for your sorroundings. Take interest in your life and in the life of others. The list can go on and on. Hope this helps
