Definitely! I gather they were going to do this but they haven't got round to it.
It's no big deal, though. Avatars are stupid non-representations, anyway, made even stupider when people ask "Do you think I'm sexy/hot?" What kind of crazy question is that??? The person may be a pushing 40, unshaven male yet have a dolly-bird avatar or a macho winking avatar.
I think avatars should be automatically chosen at random based on one's profile (age, sex, interests &c) ... or not used at all.
Personally, I use the picture-in-360 option. Even so, I confess to making myself look better than in real life, hehe.
Edit: I see from Wally1's that they have made some more mature ones ... some of us are proud of being follically challenged. Challenges are good!

I agree. for a business company the dimensions of Yahoo, how complicated is it for them to get some designers to make some diverse elderly Avatars. the internet is for each individual! i think of it relatively is unquestionably rather slack, in the event that they pulled their finger out they in all probability does not be falling in the back of Google the way they are! :P

They should have a part in yahoo for adults to keep the kids out so you can ask questions without getting reported
