Good question. I think if there were one true religion, it would not insult or exclude people. Not even the people who didn't believe in the religion. It would just be there and accept people for who they were. And it most certainly would not ask it's followers to murder anyone to convince people it was the only true religion. It would be peaceful.

You'd have to define religion and true religion first. If we go by the dictionary meaning, which is a.) belief in and reverance of a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator or governor of the universe b.) A peronsal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief or c.) A cause or activity pursued with zeal or conscientous devotion; then there is no true religion anyway. It's just a belief or activity, how can there be one true belief? A belief can be anything because it's not grounded on anything but faith, another empty concept. You either know, or don't know. Religions until now unfortunately steer people away from truth.
If you view the one true "religion" as the truth, then it would definitely insult "most" other religions because "most" religions have caused more destruction than growth.

The one true religion is Christianity. Judiasm happened before Christ, the Hebrews refused to accept him, so God the Father thru his Son Jesus made himself available to every person on this planet. Islamic beliefs didn't start until around 1250 AD- and if you notice the Koran is never translated into English or any other language other than Arabic- they're afraid of a mistranslation.
The other reason is that the Koran teaches its OK for you to cheat, steal and lie- just don't do it to your own tribe of people.
Now, as far as insulting other religions, lets go down the list. Does Christianiaty insult other religions per se? No- theres several places in the Bible where prayers are said that they should be all in one accord in the teaching and beliefs. Does the Bible allow other books? No it does NOT- the bible is very clear that any other books that "Add or take away from this book shall have all these curses placed on them" (Book of Revelations) and a few other places.
Now, some people- coworkers at Boeing when I was an Engineer- became very offended when I told them that the bible said none believers would be going to hell. They blamed ME when I showed them the verses- it was easier for them to blame someone else rather than take the personal responsibility of learning about God.
So, its shoot the messenger, and ignore the message is the bottom line

To answer your question we need to asses the situation completely.
Situation 1:
There is a heaven and a hell (which most religions affirm) and those who believe in the religion go to heaven and those who don't go to hell.
The true religion would critic other religions and attack people's reasoning to guide them to the true path. If the religion is 'apologetic' then those who don't heed the 'warning' would be justifiable in saying well we didn't realize you(God) didn't want us to follow religion X., since you(God) were 'humble'. In a sense a none humble stance on other religion amounts to a warning to those of other religions.
Allow me to make the analogy of the building on fire where the building would be other religions and the fire is hell and outside is heaven...
Are you gonna be humble and say .. well i am going outside there is a nice breeze out there.. if you guys want to follow.. come along.. when there actually is a fire....
or are you gonna say..
Listen... there is a fire.. you see this smoke... this is fire.. you see those sprinkler going off that is fire.. you see outside its nice and cool... so on..
hope you get the idea...
Situation 2:
No heaven and hell.
then there are no consequences of following the wrong religion and all the true religion would need to do is encourage people to do good. It is of no consequence whether somebody follows that religion or not.
In this situation there is no fire... so it serves no purpose to attack peoples reasonings to warn them
Situation 3:
Atheist.
The true atheistic religion wouldn't exist .. nuff said.
I really like the analogy the guy made of an elephant.. its nice.
So the 'attack' as you put it is in essence a warning to followers of other religions, so that on the day of judgement they would have no recourse.

All the religions are HUMBLE, none of the religions insult another religion, Except ATHEISM.
Its us the ignorant followers, who without research, say B.S about other religions in order to attract common people to our religion.
What I beleive & also the religion ask us to say good things about our religion & then lead by example. The world will follow us.

No matter what, that religion would be vilified anyhow, since immoral people can't stand the truth.
By the way, most secular and protestant westerners today see the claim to absolute truth as insulting per se.
And yes it does exist.
The Catholic Faith is absolutely true, 100%, guaranteed by Jesus Himself.
Actually there's not many other religions who do claim absolute truth, perhaps Islam and some small protestant sects, like the jehovas and mormons.

There obviously would be peace in the world and not fighting and racism and all the other goodies that go with the fractions. When God spoke to His people and they were graceful towards Him as a Father, the ancient lands prospered. Once again, He gave them free will and look what our for fathers have done with it!
I believe in the one true religion which is LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU. No religion is without its flaws, but God is patient and He knows every one is searching for truth and God is Truth - blessed be!

Be humble. Do as what u have been taught by your religion. If the other party is interested, they will naturally come to you to learn about your religion.

for me, i believe in my own religion and i will tell others about it. But i will not insult other religions as well but find my ways of telling them what is the true one. Why want to insult something that hold so many people's faith? it's the peopel that we must try to bring in again

If the religion causes so much damage to the world peace through terrorism will be insulted by all other religions. There is no need for analysis of true or false religion; the terrorism loving religion should be wiped out.
