First of all, relax. Black stool is something you get when you've iether had a lot of iron intake (such as through red meats), or by medication (any Pepto Bismol recently?). If neither apply, it's still no real worry: The left side is where your colon descends, so, forgive me but, if you can do something to take a really good dump, you should be all right. To get that going, try to avoid sugar and white flour, and have coffee with cream, plus some salad with olive oil. That should take care of it. In the long run, remember to eat something raw every day, that should keep you out of this kind of trouble.
Good luck.

if you feel pains on the right side of your stomach, then it must have something to do with your appendix..however if you feel it on your left, then it has something to do with your kidneys. Try drinking more water, or better yet, drink some buko juice, it will help you urinate as often as you should. If after some time the pain is still there, i suggest you consult a doctor...its better to be safe than sorry!

It could be diverticulitis, or an irritation in a little pocket formed in the bowel in the left lower abdomen. But if you have black stool, you need to go to the doctor right away.
