Me and my partner are always cycling. He cycles some 10 to 12 miles per day...He have been doing this for years, and he doesn't show any problem at all.
In weekend we both cycles long distances some 50 or 80 miles a day...and I feel very healthy too...
More, I used to have a bad back and I have noticed it is much better now!
The only problems can be if your bike is to small or to big for you, the distance of the bar, the distance of your legs with your pedals. And the grip and the distance between your arms and handles. If the saddle is to low or to high. I always measure if my leg can go straight without bending to the pedal is okey distance from the saddle to the leg for me.
Si in my personally opinion it improves your health...
Ciao!
Ah and we also can eat a little more!
Have a nice day!

Too much of anything is bad for you. 10 miles cycling a day should be quite good for you if you're reasonably fit. If I tried to cycle 10 miles, I'd finish up in hospital!

I ride twice that amount, and am doing fine. Just make sure your seat and handlbar are set at the right levels. If they're not you'll feel pain in your knees and back. The only thing that will hurt your groin is if you land on the frame bar beneath your seat. Ride on!

So long as your diet is sufficient to supply your body with the nessasary energy required you might start to go too skinny. If you want to gain strength to go faster or further, your muscles require rest to recover and build(sometimes even a couple of days/ you will notice the difference. However, if you just want to lose weight 10 mile a day sounds like plenty.

If you don't have any pain, don't worry about it. There are people who run that far every day, and cycling is a lot lower impact that running. Just make sure you don't have a seat that cuts off your circulation.
