I think the solution is creation of Palestine country. But this solution is hard to reach, because Jews are greedy in their nature and they will not return the land they occupied. I think the idea to split Israel in two countries is not very interesting for Jews.
p.s.: TO "bill h": Jews are religious fanatics, and greedy, greedy people. It's no wonder that Hitler wanted to burn them all.

It does not just stop at ending the occupation, but granting statehood to palestine. A clear example is demonstrated in the manner the Hezbollah issue was settled by the international community.
Hezbollah was operating from defined boarders within a sovereighn state and the responsibility become that of their host country, and the issue was easily resolved by the international community. Lebanon rose to the occassion and has now sent troops to its boarder with israel.
If palestine were a state they would never allow such a thing to happen knowing fully well the consequencies of attacking or sponsoring unprovoked attacks on another country. The whole of the international community would condemn them and they would be forced to shoulder all responsibilities that arises thereafter.
The key to ending the middle east conflict is to end occupation and grant palestine statehood. But i think the major reason why this has not happen is because the arms manufacturers would definately be out of relevance, since it is only when people are faced with imminent threat that they think seriously of defending themselves. But i emphasise that the concern for lives should be more than concern for making more money.

It is the natural place to start!!!
According to the United Nations Security Council, Israel, in establishing settlements in the Palestinian and other Arab territories occupied since 1967, has no legal validity, and constitutes a serious obstruction to achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East. Furthermore, the United Nations Security Council deplores the failure of Israel to abide by numerous Security Council Resolutions. As an Occupying Power, Israel has been called on to abide scrupulously by the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilians in Time of War; to rescind its previous measures; and to desist from taking any action which would result in changing the legal status and geographical nature, and materially affecting the demographic composition of the Arab territories occupied since 1967, including Jerusalem, and in particular, not to transfer parts of its own civilian population into the occupied Arab territories. Israel has been repeatedly condemned for its disproportionate acts of violence which have resulted in the tragic loss of innocent civilian lives; and has on many occasions, been urged to refrain from further acts of violence.
If we are to respect Israel’s ‘right to exist’ let it exist within the boundaries allocated to it. Acquisition of territory by force, is and always should be ‘inadmissible’ as it takes away the rights of others to exist.

Yes, there will be an end to the war in the Middle East.
On September 12, 2006 there will be a start of nuclear war. That is a start. Not the end of the world. Remember, Hiroshima it did not end the world.

the only cause is not israeli occupation but the arrogant nature of the head of the muslim states.who want to remain in power by diverting the mind of people from their autcratic to israel and palestian tussle. if israel occupation is the main cause then why iraq was destroyed by america and its muslim countries allies.in middle east peace can be longlast when there would be end of israel occupation and changing of transfer of power from this dictato r to the people.

It would be great if it worked that way. I'd give good odds that it wouldn't end there though. You seem to think that the Islamofascists will just disappear, not to mention the aspirations of Iran and Syria.

could be, but i think that both side should stop producing/acquiring weapons, that are obviously for attacking each other, & other things that could hurt anyone on each side i.e. air strikes, suicide bombers, abduction, arresting of leaders,etc....the tendency of provocation is high as they keep on coming back at each other whenever bad things happen.
