Remember Abraham was a man born in the middle of the Worlds of mankind. He was neither white nor black! He was a moderate person, who toiled in the hard soil. He also had a compassionate heart and had a hard resolve to keep good alive.

In my personal view (of course I may be called prejudiced because of my belief in ISLAM) he is one of the best examples of a decent human being for people to follow on all sides.

Abraham means FATHER OF MERCY. Raham in Arabic also is a word used for the womb, the first place of mercy where every single individual receives the mercy of life and food and nourishment. The Quran calls God Almighty Himself RAHMAAN and RAHEEM, both names rooted in RAHAM or MERCY. Rahmaan meaning doubly Merciful. Raheem means intensely merciful. There are many other meanings for these powerful names of the Most High. Rahmaan means merciful to all, deserviing or undeserviing. Raheem means intensely more merciful to the deserving.

If you discard Abraham, who will you put in his place? He represents religions that span the World. He represents monotheism, which can some day provide salvation to one and all. If your god and my god is the same, how can I hurt anyone who belongs to MY GOD?

True the monotheists have not set great examples of this mercy or this concept. But, do not discard the concept that is lofty because the adherents have not set good examples.

I hope this answers your question.

A simple rule for right living - you can call it my "religion" -

1. Do not do unto others what you would not like done to you.

2. Love others as you love yourself.

Another practical if not spiritual rule for right living

3. Reduce, Re-use, Re-cycle

Neglecting this last rule will destroy the environment and make the world unfit to live in.

Chaote--chaos magician. I believe in whatever works to get results. All religions are fair game, including made up ones, including the ones I'm making up RIGHT NOW.

Actually, I believe in belief. That pretty well sums it up.
