Because they're creepy beyond words. What sane person would want to be a clown. They all look like child molesters to me.

I am not, but clowns can be really scary if you associate it with monsters and things moving in the dark. Take Stephen King's novel "IT", the clown is a killer monster out to torment the children, living in the dark sewer and scaring the hell out of kids.

i assume John Wayne Gacy did no longer help your liking clown any. i'm no longer afraid of clowns, yet on a depressing stormy night optimum something from Stephen King could have you ever checking if your closet door is close.

i wasn't. but now i'm reading stephen king's "IT". it freaks me out. i keep seeing yellow eyes in the dark...the yellow eyes of a clown..

Me too! they have sinister smiles! Its hard to trust them as they are always up to no good! its a pity that they expose toddlers to such torture!
