God is God. People infected with a mix of what they think is God and commercialism are weird. Well, let's face it, people are weird anyway!
Some of those people on TV might better be termed 'burn-again Christians' (though I really like to reserve that epithet for atheists.)
When we are new to the experience of God, it seems we encounter all sorts of ideas and beliefs. You could see it as a kind of 'testing time' ... maybe He just wants us to know that this world is full of all kinds of people and that He loves them all regardless of their weirdness, misguidedness ... even evil! He seems to teach everyone about Himself in a different way. He often stretches us somewhat but He never leaves us and He never loads us with more than we can carry.
Ask Him to give you wisdom and the ability to understand the way he loves people. Once you agree to let Him guide you and to be your friend and Father, you will start on the most joyous and gruelling journey of all time with the best of companions.

Don't watch it at all until you have a good knowledge of Biblical truth, and are secure in your relationship with Jesus. The Bible is the only truly reliable source of info, keep praying as you read and the Spirit will show you the meaning. Learn scripture so you can quote it when the enemy attacks (he will) and learn to stand on God's promises. Find a mature Christian that you trust and ask for guidance, maybe get a prayer partner. Christian TV isn't all bad, in fact I'm guessing most of it is genuine but everyone has a different opinion and you need only to know the mind of Christ.

Bad question. I'm not bagging you but I can tell you alot on this subject. Rodney Howard Brown, Billy Graham, Benny Hinn, Joyce Myer etc. Some are practising Free Masons, others are money hungry, they all preach a doctrine other than the Bible, especially Rodney Howard Brown and Benny hinn. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the truth on this matter.

Just turn the TV off for a while
Remember when someone is used of God, they are still very human and they can get things wrong sometimes.
Get on your own, and ask the Holy Sprirt to teach you day by day.
As you hear him, obey and he will lead you into all truth. The Holy Spirit will not fail you, he is the best teacher there is!
Dont be anxiouss just rest in the knowledge that you are loved of God, and that he is more than able to keep you right.
take care.

the whole point of being a christian for me is the personal journey. so many professed christians seem so lost and desperate to find other people to tell them what to think. I believe we have to take responsibility for ourselves and find the path to enlightenment on the inner journey of the soul as much as the outer journey of the consciousness. everything around us is God so good or bad is only a human judgement. we can learn from all our fellow humans. you can't protect yourself from the world by hiding from life. God became man so he could experience our world and understand us. he is always loving and compassionate. Be a vessel for his light and love the foibles and forgive the mistakes of his children. we are all brothers and sisters and you know how families get...

Go with what you feel, be true to yourself. There is a somewhat "perfect" image a lot of Christians think they got to fit into so they put on that image. Just listen to your own common sense. No one's perfect. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Do unto others.... I don't listen to the hate mongering preachers or the seemingly excessively happy. There's very reasonable Christians and televangelists out there and just use your own judgement on who you should listen to.

Why would you want to turn to TV rather than the Bible? That's what I fail to understand... You CAN read, can't you? Is it the size of the Bible? The archaic speech? There are Bibles with more readable translations, you know. Or would you prefer to just sit on your backside and soak up the poison?

any televangelist that doesn't teach out of the Bible but just makes feel good speeches should be avoided -- and ANY televangelist that spends an awefull lot of time asking you to send in money or love gifts or special offerings is after just that - your money.
Yeshua Messiah taught "My Father's house is not a marketplace." yet that's exactly all most televangelists are.
try Shepherd's Chapel. A little hardline at times, but they teach straight out of the Bible, chapter by chapter - and you actually learn what the Book says with constant references to the original language.

I wouldnt believe everything on the tv. Some people are out to get a name for themselves. It is better to go to a church rather than watch it on tv. You need the fellowship and guidence of other Christians. They can help you with your questions. You are right to question and doubt what you hear. Rather question it and try find out than believe it out right.

if you feel un-easy about it ..i suggest you stop watching it. Yes reading the bible and going for bible study gives you a better picture of Christ. Since you are born-again, this is the time the devil will try to tempt you in many ways..just pray and ask God to guide you.
