This is not the normal where I come from. The women wear and dress like everyone except if they are young sometimes the dresses are shorter than what I would consider acceptable for church. I have heard of Pentecostal Holiness women who wear skirts all the time and have long hair that they keep pinned up. They do it to look different than the world.

My family belongs to a religion called The Truth. I personally don't, but most of my father's side does.
The women are not allowed to cut thier hair, or wear pants. Most of them choose to wear denim skirts. I honestly don't know why, I think it is because it is as close to wearing jeans as their beliefs will let them get.
As far as the sandals and scarves, it is just a fashion choice. Ya gotta do something with all that hair, and that's probably what her mother wore.

That's a strange question. Not all religeous women wear long hair and denim skirts, but there is a church where the women are not allowed to cut their hair. Can't help you on the name though.

Traditional Pentecostals and Apostolics practice this in their religion. They believe that a women should not dress inappropriate nor cut their hair, They don't wear make up nor jewelry. In my opinion, I believe it is not biblical nor do I believe it is a sin. This is a false man made doctrine to keep men from looking at a women in lust. A Man will still look at a woman with lust regardless of what she has on or doesn't.

I believe women should wear womens clothing, I'm not too sure about denim, but they should dress respectfully, not drawing attention to their physical selves.

Well, that's certainly not all religious women! However, some Christian churches and individuals do really stress what they consider "modesty."

Also, it's United Pentecostal churches that forbid cutting hair. They also stress "modesty."
