I am looking for a free program that works like lotus notes or projectwise. Any suggestions?

Ideally the programs should make queries or searches for documents using keywords. Should allow you to enter attributtes easily as you put your documents in the system. Lotus notes or projectwise are good examples of DMS

I am not sure whats the exact thing you are looking for. Are you looking out for a version control system? Or for something that lets you generate documentation?
For the 1st, I would suggest SVN or CVS
For the 2nd, I would suggest wiki

They are easy enough to use on linux, but I dont hv 1st hand experience of using them on windows. However, a few days ago, I read this article on svn on windows.

You should be able to find similar documentation on wikis as well
