There are only three units in the 101st Airborne that jump: Division Pathfinders, Division LRSD, and the Fort Campbell Parachute Demonstration Team. That's it. The rest of the Division walks, or rides helos. There are no extra Airborne School slots allotted to the Division. The only two schools that distinguish the Division are Air Assault and Pathfinder, both of which can be found at other installations.
Most of the organic aviation assets are being spread across the Army as well. Don't think what you see on TV or movies is the Division; that's the past. The Division has changed quite a bit even over the last few years.

I was in the 101 from is just another Infantry Division, only exception they do air insertions, some times. Really no different then 10th Mountain, 24 Infantry, or any other (L) Light infantry division. Don't get me wrong it was a high-speed unit, but so was the 7th ID and the 10th Mountain when I was in.

ok I ought to take situation with some issues you reported right here. before everything, 173rd is an airborne brigade wrestle team, no longer a branch, and sure it relatively is on leap prestige. there is likewise 4th ABCT, twenty 5th identity out of Alaska as nicely. i might for my section go with the two of those over the 82nd based in basic terms on duty station yet thats only me. (82nd's in N. Carolina btw) additionally you have have been given your priorities a sprint twisted up. The one hundred and first isn't any longer an airborne branch, have been given it--incredibly its an air attack unit. What do you think of we use greater at the instant? Paratroopers and leg's alike are doing distinctive air attack missions in Afghanistan at the instant. Its been that way provided that Vietnam. no person's leaping out of airplanes whilst they are deployed... Whats so particular approximately 1st identity?

Well the Screaming Eagles are a tad more than previously described. There are the premier Air Assault Division in the world..
They own the night.
With 7 Batallions of Helo assets they have the most of any unit in the Army.
The only people that exit aircraft by parachute these days are the Division Recon and the Division staff along with the Air Assault Aschool cadre...that's it.
