Carefull, Wicca is not a revealed religion, we like to be mysterious...although most info can be found in a good book or some websites. We try to encourage people to find things out for themselves and learn for themselves and not just be told how to do everything, especially in a public forum.
Now, Christians relax, if you want all the info available on Wicca, it can be found, and we don't secretly sacrifice anyone or anything like that!

You start by learning the basics of visualization, elements, and working with energies. Which books are you using in your initiation period? They should slowly teach the skills needed to cast a circle and explain why each are necessary.

This is not the place to tell you that. I could recomend DJ Conways books, like 'Celtic Magick' or 'Norse Magick'. If you read several different books, you will find several different methods for circle casting. Compare and contrast and figure out what is important and what isn't.

It's cool that you're waiting the year and a day. A lot of newbies don't do that, but there's so much to learn!
Try Scott Cunningham's "Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner," if you haven't already.
PS--Don't you just *love* the taste of haterade?! That kind of ignorance is one thing you have to prepare for, and learn to answer.

I am not a Wiccan, but a chaote/ceremonial magician...a very good basic circle'casting ritual is the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram, which is very much rooted in Qabbalism/hermetic magic. There's a very nice Wiccan version of it, though. Check out the link below and see how that works for you.

Sweety - as an ex-Wiccan, consider everything you do carefully... stuff manages to come back and bit you on the butt.

Hey you gotta get away from such things, look into its history, then look into history of the Bible - the Bible condemns that sort of thing, it is infact satanism.
Please I beg you to research into the Bible and keep an open mind.
God Bless !!
