OH! I have the answer for this one.
MISERABLE. It would be a natural instinct, to find your TRUE love. And You will. Just be carefull. Know in your heart, who you're REALLY looking for so you don't make the same mistake.
We've ALL made bad choices. This is a part of the learning process, as to who, would be your perfect match. It takes mistakes, to guide you down a better path, to make better choices, when it comes to finding your TRUE love.
Been there.

It's like finding a job. We settle for an okay job, but always dream of getting paid well doing something we love to do. When that dream job comes along, we dump the okay job.
So, to answer your question. We settle for something instead of nothing. When something better comes along, we upgrade, trade up ... do whatever it takes.
I'd rather be alone for right reasons, than be with someone for wrong reasons ... I think that was from the movie "Some Kind of Wonderful"

You would definitely be cheating yourself out of true happiness.
I have been with someone for going on two years, engaged for eight months. I have NOT set a wedding date because deep down inside I know that he is not the one:(
I know what I want to feel, and I know that I deserve to feel all of those wonderful feelings and by settling I think that I am cheating myself out of something totally amazing and life changing.

Two words....Pure Hell!! If I decided to settle for a person I really didn't' love, but felt comfortable with.... I would be soooo unhappy. Not a burden I want to live with everyday and I know it wouldn't last. So I could never live like this, because I would rather be alone!!

Look at the percentage of divorces.
In my opinion, the majority settle for second best.True Loves are few and far between.

are you male or female? as a female, I'd say you would be better of finding true love in the long run. we women tend to stick with whoever treats us right, but slowly grow unhappy. then we are old and won't break up with the guy, 'cause we are afraid of being lonely. if you are a guy, I'd say you are better off finding true love now and don't waste your time being unhappy. don't make a woman stick with you if she is not "the one"
