Do you know what symptoms a 4 month old puppy would have if she was in heat?

lil poo, obviously bleeding, but how much and how often. Puppy is not around male dogs.. geeze..

It is very normal for your dog to be in heat at four months of age - not all that common but normal. I dog can go into heat for the first time between 4 and 9 months of age. The things you should be aware of to know that she is for sure in heat is swollen vulva, bleeding (light to heavy), and the unusual attraction that male dogs will have to her. Just because you do not have a male dog, don't be surpirsed if male dogs just start 'showing' up around your place to 'visit' your dog. At four months old puppies do not usually come into heat but can and this is very rare. The puppy will swell up at it's privates and bleed from it. They get very anxious during a certain cyle of their heat and want to find a male dog. Mine have always been very uncontrollable when they came in heat. My suggestion is take and get the dog spayed. Four months is way too early to start this and it will probably come in about every four months instead of six.

Okay even though she's not around males, she still will come into heat as it's the natural course. The only way to stop it is to have her desexed/spayed. As stated in the article below there will swelling of her vagina, and a fair amount of bleeding as I recall from my earlier years when our dog came into heat. As in enough blood that when she sits down she will often leave a bloody patch. What do you mean about the poo though? Oh and remember that when she stops bleeding after a week or two, she will come into season and be ready to mate for around a week. This is when you have to keep her locked up away from the males because she will pretty much have a target attached to her backside. I hope this helps.

Hon your dog should not be in heat at four months, it just not sound right, are you sure she is only four months and not about six, if that is the fact then she will only start bleeding in her second week, but she won't bleed a lot it would be dripping here and there, and she would want to get to a male to deck her, so if you don't want her to be covered then I would suggest that you take her to the vet and have her spayed

From what I know about dogs,a female comes in heat at 6 months of age. I would take her for a check up if you haven't already done so.In the event she is in,she will be swollen if you look at her bottom and bleed.

I don't know that a four month old female could be in heat at that age since most dogs start around 6 months but who knows she might be a early bloomer. Has there been blood down there? Alot of male dogs suddenly around? Is she swollen downthere?

gosh, never heard of a pup going into heat that early in age!! My 7 month shepard hasnt went into that yet, I think usually they go into heat around 7-10 months of age, maybe you better call the vet and have her checked out,, good luck

4 month old puppy does not come in heat. they are experimenting if anything. 2 month old will ride your leg. female in heat her vagina will swell up like a huge strawberry. and she will spot blood.

uh, well maybe like bleeding everywhere(they have that prob like us humans) and male dogs trying to hump her all of the time (u know, of course after the ritual butt sniffing routine) hope that wasnt your idea of mean, im just blunt and honest
