for the past week, i have been having trouble falling asleep so i have been taking benadryl as a sleep aid. i am not planning to do this for long, i'm still trying to adjust to a new work schedule. i was wondering if anyone knows of any potential side effects or is this a harmless practice?

Nope... A lot of the docs I work with even use it to sedate little kids.

A better idea for a sleep aid is to go to a doctor and talk about the options. I take a sleep aid that I got from my doc and it works great... doesnt give you the groggyness in the morning that benadryl does.

Well it is addictive. But try not to rely too much on it cos it could give you side effects like headache as well as dizziness.
