After the static gets worse and worse you hear a loud crack and then the tv works like normal like if it needs to warm up. That was the first problem now it doesnt even turn on now. I've used a soldier iron before and specific help is greatly appreciated.

This sounds like high voltage leaking If you look in or under the set you will see it. If thats not it it ma be the tube going bad to tell this seeif the set changes color drasticly after the loud crack if it does its the tube

It could be to much stactic or electrical wires around the tv. Unplug the tv for 15sec and plug it back up. That might help. Dust the tv off too when its unplug.

Its the little people inside you disturb when you turn it on, the noise if them running for cover! If it doesn't turn on now, get a new one, its too old...

The tube is on the way out... or there is a lot of dust in there that is heating up and wreckin' the tube.
