The minute amount of saliva that goes into your skin from the mosquito bite is spread through the surrounding tissue, causing irritation to the area. Your bodies natural defenses cause swelling which increase blood flow, increasing the number of white blood cells to the area to attack what doesn't belong in your body.

I got a mosquito bite, or some kind of bug bite, on my forehead just on my hairline once. I kept itching it until a good square inch of my hair got scratched to 1/5 the length of the rest of it <=[. My part has never been the same again.

If you scratch a mosquito bite, it gets bigger because you always scratch it and the more you scratch it, the bigger the mosquito bite will be.

it's an antihistamine reaction to the toxins the mosquito deposited under the skin. Apply Benadryl cream and stop scratching it.

Try this old fashioned method to stop the itching. It really works.
Mix a little vinegar with salt until you get a loose paste. Then rub the bite with this solution firmly, and the bite stops itching immediately. Just try it. Let me know through contacting me.
