What are they like to have as a pet? Do they have a good nature? I have read loads of sites on the internet about them but you can't beat personal experiences!

How often do you bathe your sphynx?

I have read that as they have no (or very little) fur their skin can get oily and they need a bath so as to prevent sores on their skin where it is wrinkled.

Hi there...I personally do not own a Sphynx breed but have trained owners with them. They are amazingly affectionate and intelligent breed. They are very dog-like ...following their favourite person wherever they go in the home. They even take very well to leash training. I recently trained one to participate in the agility ring (something dogs do now available for cats). This little guy followed the cue stick perfectly and in a short time so his time trial numbers was high for a beginner.

Because they are hairless they need to be bathed about once a week to every other week to keep the skin from drying out. Because their ears don't have hairs like most cats they will require regular cleanings as well. This also includes the eyes and nails too. Generally as a rule most cats do not to be bathed, but the sphynx is the one exception because of the body oils it accumulates as there are no body hairs to dissipate and distribute it.

I'll include a website link below that shows what goes into grooming a sphynx breed if you haven't already discovered it.

Ive never heard of the breed myself, but if an ancient culture depicted them as being gods, they must be magnificant animals.
I myself just just have a very furry black feline wrapped around my feet at the moment, agreeing with a purrrrr.
