Would you date a guy with a crappy car and a healthy bank account, or a guy with a sweet ride and mountains of debt?

Why would the guy with the healthy bank account have a crappy car and visa versa? It's doesn't really matter in the end though. Rich people don't automatically have happy relationships nor do poor people have bad ones. But, if I HAD to choose...the crappy car guy because I have a decent car but no money! Ha!

Bad car/good bank account maybe, although that can be an indication of someone who is cheap.

The other guy, maybe, if he has a really good excuse for the mountains of debt (and that debt would have to be one thing, like school loans - not zillions of little different debts adding up to a mountain). Bear one thing in mind: Sometimes the person without cash to spend has no choice but to sign up for a car with no money down rather than be able to come up with a couple of thousand for a used car. The nice car might be acceptable if it were only nice because its newish rather than being nice because its extravagant.

Extravagant car/mountains of debt: No Way

I'd date the guy with a crappy car and a healthy bank account. But really it's based on personal taste, and why the guy is in debt (paying off a house he's genuinely saved a deposit for?). But really it's personality of the guy that I'd go for. If he's too much into his 'ride' , then he's not interested in me. :)

I'd choose the guy with the crappy car and healthy bank account because he obviously needs the help in investing his money in a sweet ride. I'd help with that. But I don't want to sound like a gold digger but you said "if you had to choose..."

I would take the crappy car. If he has a healthy bank account, why can't he afford to buy a decent car?

The crappy car, no question. How can a man who has gained so much debt be responsible and well-prepared? I am much more attracted to guys who know that money doesn't fall from the sky, and work to save theirs. And it doesn't matter if they have to drive around a piece of crap for a few years if it lets them save up their money for a better one or for more important things.
