Some people are. Other people's selfishness and greed are a problem for everyone. You can only do so much to solve that problem, usually by living some other way.

I think a lot of people do have that attitude. Sad, but true. If our country hit a situation where food and other necessities were in short supply, I think we would all be in trouble. I saw this recently when a rumor spread that our town was about out of gasoline due to Katrina. People were jockeying for a place at the gas pumps and cursing other people. It was a little frightening.

I think most people have good intentions to think beyond themselves, but then they don't have their priorities in order so it never happens. The end result - they live in selfishness and greed. My reasoning - my husband and I have given our last dollar to people in need - but our son would take the last dollar to spend on himself in luxury. Who knows where the trait comes from, we don't have a clue - because it's sure not from us!

Oh yes, I think many people are following a "Live and Let Live" philosophy. In fact, I think there are so many doing so that the religious right and would be controllers have taken over the store a bit while we were doing just that.

Peace!

No. I try to live in harmony with everyone around me. I'm hoping that when it's time for me to leave this life, I'll know I helped make the world a better place.

That's the sad story of humanity. It's dog eat dog. But there is a reward for those who live above these low morals that society has come to accept.

I think it depends on the situation. I dont like the idea that all people live like that all the time. People can be good but they can also cause a world of hurt.

I believe there are definitely some people who are living their lives that way but most people I know are kind, considerate persons.
