You have an ingrown toe nail. You probably cut your toe nails wrong. The best thing to do (for now) is to get a thin piece of a cotton swab, then with a needle slide it under your toe nail to pull the nail away from the infected skin it's digging into. This will releive the pain till it grows out. If it's too painful, and theres puss coming out, go straight to the doctor. They might have to remove a portion of your toe nail. Those hurt! From now on cut your toe nails straight across. That way they don't grow back inward.

You could have a hang nail or an ingrown nail (probably the latter if it's just the side of the nail).
Clean it well with soap and water. Soak (if possible) to soften the area. After pat drying, put antibiotics on it to rid of any infections.
Try wearing flip flops a couple of days if you can to ease the pain. It should go away in about a week.
Make sure you cut your toe nails straight. Most ingrown toe nails are because of that.
Good luck!

Sounds like an ingrown toenail. I don't know if it's the best solution but I take a pair of scissor type toenail clippers and cut the nail down the side that it's hurting. This usually helps me. Good luck!

Sounds like an ingrown toenail. Perhaps your nail has grown up under the skin on the side. If you can cut it yourself, do so, otherwise, see a podiatrist to make sure. Toe nails are supposed to be cut straight across, not like fingernails which are curved. Be well.

Probably an ingrown toe nail or a hangnail.....if not one of those two things then your socks are too tight or your shoes are too small and it is rubbing against the top of your toe all day.

Sounds like you may have a hang nail. Sometimes they are so deep into the skin that you can't get to it. Try and see if you can and cut it off with the clippers. If you cannot, you may have to see the doctor to have it removed. Those are huge pains in the butt, but if you don't take care of it, it can get infected.

its an ingrown toe nail. part of your nail digging in to you side of your toe. it happes to me all of the time, i try to push the skin back and this works if you have long nails, use your nail clipers and try to push the skin over and clip the part that is digging into your skin, i don't really know how to explain it, some times,if its really bad you might have to go to the doctor, but i've never hade to. luck!
