The agnostic does not feel that there is enough evidence to say that God does or does not exist. Rather, he reserves judgment or says that if God does exist he is unknown and unknowable

An agnostic is one who believes in the concept of God but not in a religious way. It is more spiritual. To me (being an agnostic) god, or whatever you want to call it, is a spirit that exists in each of us. It has no strengths or powers or whatever.
Starrwoode, I am sorry to tell you that you are wrong on that assumption. Many agnostics try different religions before they come to the conclusion. Don't think that agnostics can come only from Christianity. There are other religions in the world too. I can speak from my point of view and my experience. I am not afraid of any religion or any belief. If someone wants to believe a certain way that is fine with me. Just don't tell me what to believe.

While you'll get varied responses to this question, (some will try to argue all atheists are agnostics) an agnostic is a person who concedes that there is no absolute proof one way or the other of the existence of a God(s), thus they do not make a decision on the topic, since the ultimate answer is unknowable.

I dint think you want the answer to what is an Agnostic. What makes a person Agnostic is doubt and inquisitive, free thinking. There are no concepts to being Agnostic. To be Agnostic you are simply not accepting everything you are being told about religious issues. Be a doubter..... Thomas was...... Free thinker my friend!

An Agnostic is a person who believes in something but not everything that religion suggests and usually is not a believer of a God.An Agnostic is also, in my opinion, a lot better then a religious person of a specified faith.Since they don't embrace doctrines and books that condemn everything they tend to be more like-able and sound more enlightened.

A person who says that there is not one truth but many truths. Really he means that there is not truth at all but every person has his own lie for truth.
Its a philosophical movement of the first centuries and the basic enemy of the first Christian Church be for the heresis.
In every discussion a agnostic person try to find contradictions, he is always negative to you and perhaps sometimes agrees with reserves.

I am agnostic. Meaning I can not prove or disprove the existence of a god. I believe in having good moral standards and I try to treat everyone, regardless of faith, with respect.

In response to the first answerer, fear is not at all relevant.
I would suggest that the fear of death is actually one of the reasons why someone would forego reason and choose to be a follower of one of the organised religions.
I am basically agnostic, how can anyone really know? At this stage we don't, and I am reluctantly content with that.

An agnostic is an atheist who doesn't want to offend anyone. Atheism is the lack of belief in any gods, and agnostics lack belief in any gods. Agnostics are classified as weak atheists.
