I really can't understand the tendency of christians to disagree, even with themselves.
Peace!
In response to your email (the system seems to be down) - Anyone who believes in Christ and strives to live as he did is a Christian, no matter what you think. That is the definition.
I am married to a catholic, and while yes, they feel that saints are important and can be helpful - they don't put anyone above God and Christ. You are sadly misinformed and I can tell you that it is certainly not Christian of you to slander and smear your fellow man - particularly a blanket statement across a group that you obviously don't know enough about. How about if you research Catholicism instead of following half truths, rumors, conjecture and personal opinon of others who are apparently equally uninformed?

Back in the Roman days, when they saw that they could not stop christians from practicing their religion, the priests in the idol worshipping of Rome, saw a way to control the ppl.
They took the bible & told the ppl it was too holy for regular ppl to read.Only priests could read it.That way they could switch it around or add anything to it they wanted, like making up elaborate rituals & chants. They also got all the ppl's money like this.
It is sad to see so many ppl following a false religion & talking & praying to dead ppl!
Jesus said,"I am the way ,the truth & the light! No one comes to the Father except by me."
We do not have to pay or ask dead folks to get us to heaven!
If that is the case, then why did God send Jesus to be the saviour?
He could have said,"All ye confess your sins to Joe Blow next week & to Donald Trump every other week!"They will tell me & I will answer as soon as I can! BBYE NOW!

1. Catholics don't worship saints. They venerate them. This means they are looked up to as good examples of human behavior and achievement, not idols.
2. The Pope is a leader for all Catholics. He makes big sacrifices by being a good example for all people, especially Catholics.
3. A Priest makes a life-long sacrifice by adopting the practice of celebacy. This way, the priest is not distracted by serving the needs of a spouse, and can therefore focus on serving God by serving the parishioners.
4. The number of priests who have raped boys is very low, 1/10000. Religious and non-religious people have raped boys. You have no right to single-out Catholic Priests for rape.

We don't pray to anyone but GOD!!!!! We ask the saints to take our prays up to God and we aren't the only one's who believe in saints. They were just holy men and women who tried to fellow God's law. look at Mother Teresa she help many people and she was a sinner but she did all for God. The priest have a stonger bond than marriage, you can't look at they few bad priest who need help but the hundreds of Good priests, not all priest rape and it's awful that some do. But priest aren't the only ones who do. I'm becoming a nun, a mystical Bride of Christ. I'll try to fellow God's laws and pray to HIM and HIM alone. I Love Mary our mother Queen of the saints and hope she'll help me to better know, love, and serve God in thought, word, and deed, and I won't be worshipping her just asking her a favor, to ask God to give me the Grace to live my life. Sorry you feel this way but I just stated my answer and am proud of my love for God. You see becoming a priest or nun one knows that you can never marry or have a family but giving that up is one of the hardest sacrifices we can do, almost everyone loves children and to have a love, but we do have a love the one true love everyone's true love Jesus and for God we'll do anything. You see a true Catholic will give his/her life up for God die for God. And please next time learn about what your saying before bash any faith. and as for the pope everything has to have a leader to keep things in order, or you would have worst choas right?

+ Saints +
Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including the Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Episcopal Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief where all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When you die and go to heaven, you do not leave this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you may ask your family and friends here on earth to pray for you. Or, you may also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you.
+ The Pope +
Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:17-19)
The Catholic Church believes the Lord made Simon alone, whom he named Peter, the "rock" of his Church. He gave him the keys of his Church and instituted him shepherd of the whole flock.
Pope Benedict XVI is the direct successor of Peter. He is not worshiped but he is our pastor.
+ Celibate Clergy +
This idea of a celibate clergy came from the Jews, John the Baptist, Jesus, and the Apostle Paul.
The Jews. The Talmud argues that a person whose “soul is bound up with the Torah and is constantly occupied with it” may remain celibate (Maimonides, Laws of Marriage 15.3). For example, Yahweh ordered the prophet Jeremiah not to marry (Jeremiah 16:1-4). Moreover, the Essenes was a group that was active in Jesus’ time that practiced celibacy and thought by most scholars to be the authors of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
John the Baptist and Jesus are both believed to have been celibate for their entire lives. Some scholars believe that the example of the Essenes influenced either or both Jesus and John the Baptist in their celibacy.
The Apostle Paul is explicit about his celibacy (see 1 Cor. 7). There is also evidence in the gospel of Matthew for the practice of celibacy among at least some early Christians, in the famous passage about becoming “eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 19:12).
The concept took many twists and turns over the years and will probably take a few more before Christ returns in glory.
+ With love in Christ.

There is so much division among us Christians, because of the enemy's work which materialized through false teachers and deceivers who planted seeds of doubt, causing dissension among us Christians.
Nonetheless, we must pray that God will unite us in one spirit, and that in one body we shall be true worshippers of God, without dissociation among us, that our lives may be centred on knowing and doing God's pleasing and perfect will.
Why is there difference? It is because we have chosen to walk our own ways and support that which seems right to us. Why is this so? Why are we continuing the work of him who steals, kills and destroys? Have we become so blinded as to allow hostility to arise among us because of the devil's work? This cannot be so! For the body of Christ is one, and every member is to be together with the body. Surely the hand cannot say to the eye "I have no need of you", or each leg choose to go in the opposite direction.
Therefore, let us run the race set out for us together as one family in Christ, and may God lead the church and every individual who believes, towards the prize, that we may enter the kingdom of Heaven in one spirit, and praise God for His eternal goodness to us.
We can begin right now by displaying love to one another, as our Lord Jesus Christ did as an example. See, He knows that I have made my thoughts known, and I am glad for doing so. Let us love and serve one another, regardless of whether we are Christian or non-Christian, Catholic or Protestant, rich or poor and healthy or sick.
In unity is great strength. Even God acknowledges this! Remember when he said that "Nothing will be impossible for them" when Man was building the Tower of Babel? How much more strength then, will there be in our unity with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit?

The whole catholic religion is falling away from God. It is very misleading and deceptive. Look up the words "Catholicism" and "Baal Worship" on your internet. The result will surprise anyone. But the truth needs to get out there.

Giving someone sainthood does not mean that they worship the person on the same level as God. I dont think its right that priests cant marry. They should be able to it might keep things better for the people.

I'm almost shocked at your ignorance of christianity.
Have you ever read the Bible????
The 4th commandment says "Honor you father and your mother"
Ok since honoring people amounts to idolatry in your eyes, your god is a selfcontradiction since he would command idolatry.
The pope is the successor of Peter (its in the gospels)
Protestantism is a false manmade religion that Luther and the other deformers came up with 1500 years after Our Lord gave us the True Christian Faith.

As they have been taught them. yes. They certainly disobey them after and inbetween church services at least alot of them do .
those are only paying lip service to the religion and don't really believe anymore its just a habit that their parents forced onto them to give them some religious training.
