Whenever you start birth control or even switch birth control, it takes 30 days before it actually is working correctly. You need to remember your pill everyday and take it at the same time everyday. If you cant remember than you need to switch to something yo dont have to take everyday.
Do not stop taking your birth control, you dont know if your pregnant and its not going to harm your baby by taking birth control until you find out, there are many accidental pregnancies and the woman was taking birth control when she found out, i did with my son and he's pretty damn smart actually.
You can take a pregnancy test in the end of september and possibly get a result but may have to wait longer.
So you just had sex today?? If you want to be sure your not going to get pregnant than call your doctor asap....or even go to the emergency room and get a prescription for the morning after pill, you only have like 48 hours after the unprotected sex to take it and make sure that none of your eggs get fertilized. It's not killing anything, when you have sex you dont immediately get pregnant it does take a couple days for the egg to get fertilized if a sperm got in it..your just making sure that it doesnt fertilize.
I didnt tell you this but all the morning after pill (plan b) is, is a high dose of hormones...the same hormones in your birth control...it's like taking a whole weeks worth of birth control at once...it will make you sick to your stomach...but you have to think whats better..a couple hours of dealing with nausea or a couple months of nausea..?
If you seriously are scared and dont want to get pregnant than go to the ER now and get the Plan B pill (actually 2 pills), or call your doctors office ASAP, tell the receptionist that you need to talk to your doctors nurse or any nurse at all and tell the receptionist why your calling..otherwise you may be told to call back or she'll take a message, you wont even have to see your doctor, just ask him/her to call the script in to whatever pharmacy you choose. And make sure it hasnt been more than 48 hours....double check that though...it may be less, call a pharmacy and ask a pharmacist how many hours you have after unprotected sex to take the morning after pill, then call your doc. Some insurances dont cover it but its only like $20, call around and ask for prices and make sure they have it in stock...just so your not running around...there are pharmacists who dont believe in using the morning after pill and WILL NOT dispense it...they have the right to not dispense whatever they want...but they do have to call your prescription to another pharmacy for you.

The pill is supposed to be taken a month before you have unprotected sex. Yes you could be pregnant. No you should not stop taking the pill until you find out if you are pregnant for sure. Yes the test will work properly while taking the pill. You can use the test about 2 weeks from now and should be able to tell if you got pregnant from the 17th. DO NOT have unprotected sex again before you have been taking the test for 30 days. Good luck and be careful, there are so many STDs out there.

I am sure when you got those pills you were educated on how to properly use them...you are suppose to use back up or abstain from sex for at least 3 periods...3 months so that the pills can get into your system. You must be a young teen. If you do not know what you are doing you should ask someone. There is a chance of getting pregnant since you did not allow the pills to take its full course to run thru you system.
Buy a test
See a doctor
Get educated on birth control
Always make the boy use condoms
Learn to be MORE responsible in birth control if you are having sex otherwise it is recommended you do not have sex at all
If you under 18 STOP having sex.

No , your pill should have you covered, although no birth control is fully reliable. I would wait about the home preg test until you have your pill free week or you just take the sugar pills( does your pill do that?) Taking the pill makes your body think its pregnant so i'm not sure that taking a test would work. I shouldn't worry though as it sounds to me that if you started the pill the on the 6th and then had sex 12 days later, you should def been covered. The only thing that would affect coverage would if you were taking antibiotics and had a stomach virus and were throwing up.

Yes, you can still get pregnant. The pill doesn't start working in full effect for at least 2 months. And because you had unprotected sex in your luteal phase (ovulation) you have a very high chance of being pregnant. I would go to Planned Parenthood, I'm not sure if you have one where you live but thats what I had to do. I got pregnant with my first child on Ortho tri-cyclen. They just gave me an exam and tested me to see if I was pregnant. They don't tell your parents about it and its really cheap. I would continue to take the pill incase you aren't pregnant. It's probably too early to see. Just wait til your 2 weeks late on your next period. If you haven't started, then most likely your pregnant.
Good Luck!

you could have gotten pregnant but it is not likely! Don't worry so much and relax a little! Yes you can still take a home test the best time to take it in in the morning right when you get up! Dont stop talking the pill until after you take the test, the pill will not harn your baby if you are by a chance pregnant! good luck and hope for the best!

You certainly can, as no birth control is 100% effective. However, the first day you began taking the pill, you were 99.7% protected from pregnancy, which I believe to be the statistics for Ortho Tri-Cyclen. The duration of time afterwards is not important. Pay attention to your cycle, and take a pregnancy test in a few days to be sure. Remember that it's no biggie, you always have options.

Your pill should work after one week. You NEED to try to take it at the same time every day. Maybe set your cell phone to alarm at the same time every day and keep your pills on you? Keep taking the pill. The home pregnancy test will work despite the pill, it reacts to specific hormones given off by a pregnancy. You can use the home test as soon as you miss your period. I expect you're not pregnant, though. Don't stress b/c that can delay your period.

The pill takes around a month to work so you could be pregnant. You don't have to take it at exactly the same time every day, in fact, you can even miss a day now and then without affecting anything. What you should do now is what you should have done in the first place, go to a clinic and ask them for their advice.

since this is your first time taking the pill, I assume you are young? Just because your on the pill doesn't mean your partner shouldn't wear a condom..that is called "safe" sex!..Even on the pill there is always a chance of getting pregnant...No, you shouldn't stop taking the pill!..I doubt your pregnant but to be sure take a test. One never knows!
