The technique we used in cosmetology school was applying the color with a vent brush. How heavily you apply it depends on you. The only way for you to get platinum streaks, however, is to bleach the areas you want streaked. That's what they used to call "frosting" back in the day. They did that with what was basically a swimming cap with small holes in it and a tiny crochet hook. You pull the hair through the cap, bleach it, then tone it with whatever shade of blonde you are interested in. Your best bet is to go to a salon, and have the stylist do it for you.

Go to a professional they are better at it and how are ya gonna get to the back of your hair? Do not mess around with bleach yourself. You will be very sorry. If you mess it up then what? The stylist will have more of a mess to fix. Btw...when it has to be fixed ...it is called a hair color correction which will cost you twice if not three times as much to fix. Bleach has to be watched and timed. Certain strengths of developer are used on certain kinds of hair that over the counter products do not account for. You most certainly will wind up with orange hair...do you want that? Besides, if a stylist does it ...she will make sure the shade of blonde is right. A word of warning though...go get a consultation first and see if the stylist is on the same page as you and you feel she knows what she is talking about. Some charge for consults and some don't ...I don't.

go to a salon, i know it sounds expensive but that's the only way you could do...or use some waterproof hairstreaker but it would be removed if you wash it with water.
