whenever i restart or shut down my system all the files which are in recycle bin or any recently opened document in word or excel are removed, i dont know why this happens? i think some configurations are changed by mistake, so pls if anybody know how to solve my this problem pls tell me

Is it possable that you have more then one account on that pc. where if you logged in as a different user, the files would be there again? Check the control panel user accounts and see if you have more then one account on that PC.. ( Its possible that your user file is corrupt, and its auto logging into a default profile.... anyway itd weird,

What would happen if you tried to install a program? and then rebooted?

Try starting in safe mode (F8 after the keyboard flashes when booting). select safe mode, let it boot select ok, and right click the desktop and save a empty new folder. reboot in safe mode, is it still there? Do it again but without the safe more.
