If I want to listen to 940 AM I can only get 936 and then 945 and both suck for that station. It is that way through the whole AM sequence. FM works just fine. I've tried everything and even stumped the Volvo dealership dudes....Help!!!

you are about to here the strangest **** ever but since 1986 the put these crap radios in every top of the line Volvo's the sound will only come out on side of the speakers the radio stations don't come in right all has to do with the volume adjustment knob on the radio the honest best thing to do is replace the radio. Ive had three Volvo a 740 ,240 and an s70 all the same problem its on of two chronic problems Ive ran into owning Volvo's other than that there as solid as a rock good choice

My husband is having the same problem with it, he listens to 530 AM we do not have any problems with our S40 but our S80 won't play AM for some reason so we called the dealer and they said that there is a small piece of metal stripe they put on your car on the back window that will take care of the problem, we are getting that done this weekend. Which volvo do you have, the newer ones don't have the antena, they have this metal thing in the backwindshield.

Many radio's have a small switch to change from 9 (euro am)
to 10 (US am)
Check the radio's manual if available.

Remove radio and examine for a sliding switch.
There are very few euro only (9) radios, most would be early units.

I'm curious if you have the European radio instead of the North American radio. I seem to remember them having different intervals whan I was stationed overseas.

YO VOLVO MAN.

I suggest you try something really different.

Unscrew the antenna, wipe it clean with a high grade of degreaser,

BUY AN AMERICAN CAR TO PUT IT ON.

Problem solved!!!!!!!!
