Why is it hard for boxers to learn how to use peek a boo style that D'amato Cus teach?

I have been doing some experiment with it and it does't seems that hard to fight from or move around or anything.

I'm almost convince I was doing it incorrectly because it's rare to see anyone fighting like that.

The "peek-a-boo" style is a description for good defense. Amateur boxers are taught to keep their hands up and throw a jab while "peeking" around the glove that is in front of their face. A good boxer will NEVER keep his or her hands down. Get hit too much.

Ex Champion Floyd Patterson used that style.
