The difference is, he isn't gay, he's just a child molester. Which apparently , in his eyes, makes him superior. And if you believe that crap that it happened years ago and hasn't since, I've got a bridge for sale in the Gobi desert. Email your bid, I could use the money.

It saddens me to hear about the violation of young girls, but it does not surprise me; after all, some estimates suggest that 1 in 4 girls are sexually molested.
I don't expect Christians to be any more perfect than anyone else. Indeed, we preach the assurance of God's forgiveness to those who repent. I believe that that forgiveness is available to everyone - murderers, rapists, molesters, liars, blasphemers, and so on.
I know that this gentleman has a penalty to pay to society for his misdeeds. I feel that society will be much harsher on this man than we Christians ought to be. I do not say this because of this man's association with a Christian organization; I also feel that we should adopt a similar stance toward all criminals, whether Christian or not. Let the world be judgmental and unforgiving - that is not our calling!
I hope this gentleman realizes, though, what irreparable damage these revelations have done to his ability to witness effectively for Christ. I think the Cause would best be served if he consented to work behind-the-scenes (and, of course, in positions that involved no contact with young people - it's one thing to forgive, but another thing to be reckless).

Anyone who reads the Bible would clearly see that it REPEATEDLY and CLEARLY teaches against acts such as this. As many of you may know, all types of sexual immorality are taught against within the Bible. (homosexuality falls into sexual immorality which is also clearly stated in the Bible) This does not mean that Christians are free to view homosexuals as bad people or evil or anything like that. This too is completely false!
However, many Christians take the wrong approach in voicing their opinions. We should NEVER attack people for not living according to our beliefs. All too commonly this is what many Christians do. On the other side though, I firmly believe that Christians should stand firm for and voice what they believe. (I always make the analogy to alcoholism. Drunkeness is commanded against in the Bible as homosexuality is. However, Christians should not EVER shun an alcoholic for his actions. Our job is to assist that person in recovery and respect them as a human being regardless of their ability or desire to conquer what we view as sin.
As for this guy, PLEASE do not group all people who claim to be Christians into one group! Read the Bible (especially the New Testament) and look at how Jesus lived, after all, many of his closest friends were people who were looked down upon very harshly by society in his day, very similar to how homosexuals are today. HIS LIFE IS THE STANDARD OF CHRISTIANITY....not the lives of Christians(though we are commanded to be examples).

I think it is sad when anyone commits a sexual sin. It does not matter if it is homosexual or heterosexual any sex act outside of the bonds of marriage between a man and a woman is sin. Please don't think I hate homosexuals. I don't hate sinners because I am one. I just want to see them repent of their sin and find the forgiveness in Jesus Christ that I have found. The fact that this person was a Christian leader just breaks my heart. As a Christian and a pastor it is my desire to show people Jesus in my life. This man failed to do that. But I do as well. However God is able and willing to forgive any person who comes to Him with a repentant heart.

Who cares what kind of leader he is - first of all he's a male and do you really know any who can keep their hands to themselves? I don't and never have. And secondly, his crime isn't what he's a leader of, his crime is that he violated young girls at very impressionable ages. And thirdly, he does what most men do - he denied, denied, denied, until he had no choice but to confess. Sounds like a pretty average man to me - regardless of what he leads.

I believe that this man any one who molests children are committing the great sin. People should look in the bible to see what Jesus had to say about people who hurt children.

If we all assumed that every group was like one member of that group we would be in a world of hurts. I think this is one sick puppy but it would be foolish to think he is representative of the group.

Christians like to wear blindfolds and forgive the devils among them. Expecially the ones who preach to the church.

Geez, that was thirty five years ago. You got to dig deep for dirt like that. Its kind of typical of Liberal mudslingers, though.
