The epidemic of pathetic grammar. Honestly. Everywhere I look it's ur this and plz that and "wat do u think si teh pblm?" everything else. *grinds teeth*
Pathetic. People who type like that are automatically considered idiots in my book, no matter how intelligent the thought behind the statement.
Do you type ur instead of you're (or any of the common idiot-speak)? Why? Why not?

Right on! I am so happy someone has said it. It drives me crazy to see the language bastardized like that for the sake of "texting" or whatever crap excuse they're using these days.

People are generally stupid, I can't deny that...but there is also a generation (or more) of people who were never taught to type because it wasn't really required for computers until the late '90's.
It is pretty damn funny to see the Senior Vice President, or CTO of a company doing the 3 finger shuffle on a keyboard though, ain't it?
I don't know if that qualifies as an answer... ;-)

I often avoid capitals in IMs and other fast typing situations, but I definitely hate the bad grammar that you usually find on message boards and places like that.
However, I think you're overreacting a bit. Presupposing idiocy is a little harsh, and shows you to be a shallow a$s.

Yes, I agree with you. No, I don't type "ur," because it annoys me when people do that. It really doesn't take much longer to type out the actual word. To me, it makes the person appear dumb, even if they may be smart in reality.

Two thumbs up on that one. I was surprised when a teacher left an answer for a concerned mom that had spelling and grammar errors in it. Shook my head. I guess they opted out on the spell check feature.
