I live about 10 miles away from my mom and haven't spoke to her for 11 months. They night before my daughter was born I talked to her and she was going on about HER. I was in the hospital two weeks prior being induced and she hated the fact it wasn't about HER. That night I told her what i thought, i had enough, plus I was anxious and wanted her out!! lol

Anyway, I told her things had to change my daughter could not be around her or my siblings that just like to cause trouble or manipulate. My daughter is way better off and I will not put her in the middle.

I have not but am considering it now. Not completely cutting off ties, but "cutting back" to an occasional e-mail.

I did once...And believe me, I had a good reason. But after awhile, I realized that, even if I can't trust them, they are my family. I do limit what I tell them and I don't participate in their drama, ect. But I do make sure they know the big things that are going on. They are family, nothing can change that.

Yes, sort of. I was the youngest of 6 kids, my "baby" brother was 8 yrs older than me. I pretty much grew up an only child, and I harldy ever talk to any of them anymore.

I did and I decided to try again to have an adult relationship with them again and just got burned. You would think that at 37 I would learn but I guess I am just a slow learner.

I never have, but I have considered it many times before. I think it would be nice to get a break from everyone for awile. I just can't really afford it right now.

I did with my dad (I believe my sisters have as well).

He was abusive to our mother...so that's that I suppose.
