I have noticed that many peoples answers indicate that they believe more than one religion is accepted by God. Yet, the Bible describes God as "jealous" and says He would tolerate no other gods being placed ahead of him. If we aren't worshiping Him the way He wants us to, how can our worship be acceptable to him? In simpler terms, how many "truths" can there be? 1 + 1 always equals 2. It can never equal 5 or 8.

This subject can have an absolute "truth" just like mathematics when measured against a specific test or criteria, i.e. the Bible.

Why bother? This is a question to those who believe in the Bible. I am not interested in the opinions of atheists.

God is very specific when it comes to how we should worship him (example: the mosaic law) It stands to reason that only worshiping Him in the way He wants would be accepted.

actaully we are capable of knowing the truth, the bible is a reasonable logical foundation of truth to stand on regarding who God is, the bible does not ask us to follow blindly, on the contrary it provides compelling, verifiable evidence for Jesus christ and Christianity.all religions are the man made ones which say '" follow us, we know the way" without providing any sort of basis, christianity.....Christ namely provided proof when he rose from the dead. today the changes in a persons life who follows christ is further evidence

Good question so I will give my view..
Genesis chapter 2 says that 1 + 1 = 1 [When a man takes a wife they become 1 or 1 flesh], Does that mean the Bible is wrong or is it that there are more than one answer to the 1 + 1 combination?
I do find that every word in the English langauge has a minumum of two meanings. I also find that every word in the English language has two opposing meanings. [Just look up the very simple common word "let" in a dictionary]. My friend my Bible seems to say, "Let us go down and confuse the language" Today I sure do see a lot of confusion in the language and the words.
I may be wrong but then what is new. I see a constantly consistent truth and a maybe totally different accepted truth. In fact I have heard of many incidents where there were declared to be many multiple truths and everyone who was administered a lie detector test and passed it with flying colors. That means each one truly believed what they said was the truth.
In your opinion is it only you that has the truth? Can others see the truth and you not see it? What is the unit of measure of truth? Who sets the standard? How can it be verified? Once verified how can it be proven it is constantly consistent for all eternity?
You sure ask a deep question and it requires a lot of deep thought. I as a "NO" do have my own views and I am sure you have yours. Do keep yours and be content with them. However please do allow me to have mine and let me be content with them.
Now please do have a great day and do smile at my maybe worthless answer in your view OK

Well for one thing the description of God as jealous comes mostly from the OT. For some reason, God takes a super-anti-psychotic or something and gets all kind and brotherly in the NT, only to go berserko again in Revelations.
Why does there HAVE to be only one path? How do you know there AREN'T many paths? Any answer you give will only be gained through personal interpetation since the Bible does not outright say which version of Christianity, or any other Abrahamic faith for that matter, is the "True" one.

The problem is your assumption that the bible is the Truth. Most people do not believe that, so therefore your whole question is based on a false and misleading belief. It's true that 1+1=2 but that is not actually the equation civilization is asking. It is more accurate to say that ?+1= 50. There are a lot of answers that would make that equation true.

Just because he is jealous and only wants things his way doesn't mean that there aren't other ways that lead to truth. It may not be that gods' idea of truth, but there are millions that aren't concerned with that. If that is your god, then live up to his expectations, if that is what you feel is right, and don't worry about the ones that don't. Evidently, the god they believe in is more tolerant and open minded than yours.

Many people have no learning or training to base anything on.
Feelings are, or can be, the worst teacher - but that is all they have.
Having studied, and been part of more than just a couple of
religions, has shown me, that indeed, only one can be the correct one.
I love answering questions - but often the so called question is in reality nothing but a challange. Asking an honest question of others can at least give one a start point for analysis. Few even desire that.
PRAYER helps.

Well what I can't understand is your lack of intelligence to understand that for the one who believes in the Bible it could be the truth, whole truth and nothing but the truth - The same way, for a nother who does not believe in the Bible, the Bible is a lie, the mother of all lies and nothing but a lie.
For me there is no god - hence, the myth of God it self is a lie - so how can a lie be the truth.....? 1 is not equal to -1

Okay, in mathematics, there can only be one truth.
But in most other topics, there can be multiple truths.
Someone says scrambled eggs are delicious and nutritious. Someone else says they may be nutritious, but taste awful. I'm allergic to eggs; I say they're gross and are like poison to me. Who's right? We all are.
As far as religion goes, we're all given different intellectual gifts, different environments, different sorts of families, and different circumstances. I have to believe the idea is that we come to different conclusions.
I'd hate to live in a world where everyone had a writer's or engineer's mind, wouldn't you?
PS--There are a lot of different criteria, too! The Koran, the Torah, different versions of the Bible, the Bhagavad-Gita...and they ALL say they're right!

All religious beliefs are man made. Whenever people start laying down rules the one thing that is certain is that they are not going to be completely correct. So no one knows the whole truth. We are wise not to decide that something is absolutely true as part or all of it may not be true.
