HERION DETOX
The Herion Detox Process
The heroin detox process begins when the user abruptly ceases to use the drug. Although withdrawal symptoms are commonly opposite of the effects of substance use, many symptoms of herion use may vary depending on the frequency of use, regular dosage, duration of use, physical health of the individual and the mental and emotional state of the individual.
A toxin is anything that impedes normal functions of the body, or causes stagnation, congestion or disease. What keeps things from being toxic? The circulatory, lymph system, colon, liver, as well as urinary system and other bodily functions. Blockage of any of these systems -- for example, by making them work too hard, or overloading them -- can ultimately result in toxins accumulating in the body.
Herion Detoxification
Detoxification is the period of time it takes for the toxins, or drug, to leave the body. Often as little as a week. There are medications indicated for assistance in detoxification from herion and other opiates.
Because the detox process is short-term, it does not deal with the psychological, social and behavioral problems associated with the addiction to heroin. It will not create the behavioral changes that are necessary for an ongoing recovery process. However, a detoxification period is helpful in eliminating the added stress of physical withdrawal symptoms in order that the addict may focus on remedying the other problems associated with his or her herion use.

Really unpleasant but not as bad as made out to be..
Kind of like a bad case of the flu..
Worst part is not being able to get a good nights sleep for
several days ( a week ) so you get really exhausted..
If you could rest ( sleep at night ) you not get so tired in the
latter days.
Many years ago Chloral hydrate could be used to knock you out
at night so you could get some rest but today I suspect that something like Ambien would work...
After about a week, the "flu" pain is gone but you really still
crave the drug...Alcohol works to keep it back but be careful
about becoming an alcoholic as you have an addictive personality
trait still very active. Every time you smell a lit match you will feel it but that goes away after a few years...Not really any pain, just the feeling like before you took a hit...
It really isn't that tough to quit cold turkey but the tough part is
staying away from it if you have any access at all..
Don't get me wrong, a bad case of the flu isn't something to look forward to but it isn't something you can't handle either, especially if you can get some rest at night...

Don't take any more of the substance. Expect withdrawal symptoms for a few weeks.
