No, America is much more, our citizens/people define America. Music changes constantly, and great music will still sound great many years into the future. Music supplied the beat for those who built America.

Don't forget Sam & Dave, I consider them the best of those credited with creating Rock'n'Roll and paving the way for the rest. Many people don't know about them, but if you saw them one time, you never forget. Of course, Elvis was RnR also, but Sam and Dave put the first real heart and soul into Rock'n'Roll. There are many good ones before 1980, and after, it just depends on who was putting out great music when the listener was growing up. There is also great Native American, Blues, Classical, Country, Gospel, Folk, Bluegrass, and the Singing Nun..... and cross over styles also. I heard a great Russian group also.

I'm sure I left out a lot of styles..... maybe someone else can list some more.

The music a person listens to while growing up stays with them for life.... I feel lucky that I listened to a variety...

I never did like "new kids on the block" they had to be the most stupidest band ever made......... But "Tears for Fears" and
A-ha were pretty dang good!!
BTW "Culture Club" isn't an American Group....they are from England......just thought you'd like to know.
And "Men AT Work" is Australian..........
Oh and guess what Tears for Fears is also English.
And A-ha is actually Norwegian.
So I guess there goes your theory out the window !!

~add on~ "fiof f" is right 80's music Rox!!

The 80's were stupendous, even though some of the music was miserable. It definitely defined the culture at that time.

I believe that YOU could, If a person is blind to something then no showing of that thing, no matter how detailed, will be seen by him. Let me explain it this way,The extent of your understanding of American culture does not exceed 80's boy bands. (go figure). Although many of us see that there is much more to American culture, it is impossible to explain it to a person who is oblivious to it. In the same way it is impossible to explain colors to a blind man.

maximum folk would say that it would be cellular telephones, hipsters, and disrespectful young ones. for sure they at the instant are not observing the bigger image. In 2013 technologies is flowing. we are coming up with loads of latest issues to advance life as all of us comprehend it. i'd say it relatively is the 12 months of progression. yet all and sundry can conform to disagree.
