Freezing is fine, thowing is the trick

don't thow it outside the fridge, take it out from the freezer and put it in the fridge to thow slowly ove two days.

Yes, you can freeze mozzarella. I buy mine in a big block from Sam's Club and then cut it into three pieces and put it into individual zip locks in the freezer. It works great for lasagna.
If you are going to shred it for pizza it works best to have the cheese partially frozen it shreds much easier.
Do not try to thaw the cheese in the microwave it will melt. It is best to thaw it in the refrigerator.

mozzarella cheese lends well to freezing, only for about 3-6 months.

Yes, you can freeze it for about six months, make sure you wrap it really well. You have to realize that although it is totally fine, the texture will be different. I use it for lasagne, pizza, casseroles, because it crumbles after freezing.

you can freeze cheese but if its a block of cheese it will crumble and doesn't slice well after freezing.

yes you can but you will sacrifice some texture... never freeze anything more than 6 mos.
