Red clover tea has shown some promise in helping with cancer and I have heard that a diet high in whole grains is also helpful. My ex-mother-in-law has been fighting cancer for more than 10 years, is 76, still works around her house and yard, and I think her diet has helped get her this far. She eats whole grains, fruits and vegetables, seeds, chicken and fish; has cut out all added sugar, junk food, and eats very little red meat. The best herb I have heard of for all the side effects of treatments is marijuana. I don't know if you can get it, but check with your doctor. It is more acceptable these days and if it helps in this time of need no one should say a bad word about it.

I am so sorry you & your Mom are suffering like this. No special diet - just whatever she can keep down and craves. Lots of yogurt or soft foods, milkshakes, etc. Just be there for her & I know she wouldn't want you to miss out on life. A good multi-vitamin can also help. She will probably be nauseated & won't feel like eating. If she is, or gets diarrhea, then clear fluids are the best. Talk to a nutritionists & avoid the quack remedies that are advertised. They just want your money. If it would help, the doctor would recommend it. Good luck!

oh dear,,,am so sorry for ur mom,.....i guess that chemo is really terrible and should be done at the last resort,,but what she and u could do at this level is to pray ,meditate, and not go for chemo,,cos sometimes it makes things worse, there's someting like mind,,healing.through meditations,,,also visualisation,,those are alternative medicine,it may not cure or mom.but make her sufferings less painful...using the power of the mind to cure, try it its worth it,,also,,maybe there may be herbs to strengthen the blood,am not sure, try it all in the pharmacy or Chinese medicine,,best of luck for u and ur mom..and sorry about it

First of all I am sorry that your mom has cancer. I will keep her in my prayers, cancer runs in my family. Whole grains are also good, but do in moderation. Well usually doctors try and have cancer patients on a leafy diet. With alot of brocoli which is extremely good for cancer patients. Eat lots of raw vegetation. Stop eating lots of red meat, pork and etc. It helps the cancer cells to get stronger. Drink lots of purified water. She can also do detoxing. Stay away from sugar, mcdonald's and fast food. Do not drown her brocoli with cheese and butter and stay away from salt. Read healing scriptures. If you don't believe in GOD now is the time to do so. Leukemia is nothing to play with. But GOD can heal her. Also do vegetable and fruit smoothies. Add no sugar, no milk and so forth. Stay away from coffee. Stay away from equal. She can eat some chicken and Fish. Mostly Fish but make sure it is not fried foods. Prepare green salads with raw spinach for her. No dressing unless maybe a small table spoon of vinagrette dressing. NO RANCH! Do not eat canned vegetables. They are worse. They lack all of it's nutrients that can fight against cancer. Grind up carrots and beets and stuff like that and make it into a smoothie for her. Stay away from bread and alot of carbohydrates and yeast. If she has to have bread make it a piece of toast with no butter and it should be wheat bread. Cancer can be cured by our diet. We just have to be dedicated to doing so. It is possible. Tell your mom to read her bible and to pray and believe that GOD can and will heal her. Leave all fast food and pizza, hotdogs etc alone. Eat home cooked meals. NO POTATOS. Also during this time give her massages and do things for her that you wouldn't normally do. Encourage her and let her know everything will be alright. This also helps. You would be surprised to know the effect that the mindset of a person has on their disease. Also stress is a factor. Chemotherapy is hard. So rub her down and run her bath water. Cook her meals for her and take care of the house. Also get rest for yourself too, because when a family member has cancer, it effects the rest of the family also. It is very draining. STAY POSITIVE! When your mom has the energy take her on nice drives and walks. Get her out of the house, this is important for very ill cancer patients also. Bring her flowers, whatever you do do not let her get to the point where she wants to give up. Because cancer is painful. Get her some heating pads. So they can be placed on the spots that hurt in her body. Also make her eat. SHE NEEDS TO EAT. If she gets to where she doesn't want to eat, that is not a good sign. Beg her to do it, b/c she needs that energy that is stored up in food. Eat tomatoes also . Eat cucumbers. You would be surprised the types of healing nutrients that are found in organic food also. NO FLOUR! If she needs to talk and complain, let her do it. She may need a shoulder to cry on many days. Always show compassion, but always be strong. You need to pray also for GOD to give you strength to be there for her like she needs you to be. Don't over work yourself. If you feel you are going to break down, go into another room and cry. Come back refreshed with a positive outlook. She will be looking to you for her comfort and support. Certain herbal teas are good too. Maybe you should try Green Tea. Research Teas.
