If you've been taking it EVERYDAY, I think you can wait until morning to call your doctor. UNLESS you are not feeling well, then go immediately.

1.5 mg is actually a significant amount of risperdal. You do need medical advice and possibly treatment. If you are having ANY symptoms, call 911 or have someone drive you to the hospital. If you have been taking too much for a while and are not having any obvious adverse effects, you can probably wait and call your doctor in the morning. Just be sure you really do it.

If you have any of these symptoms you should immediatley seek medical attention! :
Important Safety Information

Elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis treated with atypical antipsychotic drugs are at an increased risk of death compared to placebo. RISPERDAL® (risperidone) is not approved for the treatment of patients with Dementia-Related Psychosis.

The most common side effects that may occur with RISPERDAL, in the treatment of BIPOLAR MANIA either alone or in combination with a mood stabilizer (Valproate or Lithium) are: sleepiness, muscle stiffness, restlessness, tremor, indigestion, nausea, abnormal vision, muscle aches, dizziness, runny nose, diarrhea, increased saliva, stomach pain, and urinary incontinence. In the treatment of SCHIZOPHRENIA: anxiety, sleepiness, restlessness, tremors, and muscle stiffness, dizziness, constipation, nausea, indigestion, runny nose, rash and rapid heartbeat.

Studies suggest an increased risk of elevated blood sugar-related side effects, and sometimes potentially fatal, in patients treated with this class of medications, including RISPERDAL. Some people may need regular blood sugar testing.

You may have heard the term "tardive dyskinesia." These are potentially irreversible, uncontrollable, slow or jerky facial or body movements that can be caused by all medications of this type. If you think you have these symptoms, talk to your healthcare professional.

A rare but serious side effect that has been reported with this kind of medicine, including RISPERDAL, is known as NMS or neuroleptic malignant syndrome. NMS is characterized by muscle rigidity, fever and can be serious. If you think you have these symptoms, talk to your healthcare professional.

I used to take risperdal ( not a good med at all) and sometimes when i had freak outs i would take too much and just sleep since thats all risperdal does really. you dont need to see a dr unless its serious. but that drug is meant to be take in little doses since it is strong. but you are probably fine and shouldnt take more then recommended.

YES. That is a very strong dose (or over dosing) of that drug. If you've been taking it for a long period of time you may notice several side effects dizziness; drowsiness; increased heart rate; fainting; fever; sweating; muscle spasms; and uncontrollable movements of the arms, hands, tongue, face, or other body parts. Basically you go from having schizophrenia to having a tourettes-like looking disorder. Not fun!

Isn't risperdal some kind of mind-altering medication?

My Mom took that crap and it mad her knees all stiff to the point that she fell a lot when walking. You may want to call a pharmacist, or your doctor to be sure that you didn't overdose.
