Don't use any shampoo until u talk to a pharmacist they r almost as good as your dr , U don't have dandruff its a little more than that , this stuff that u use is very concentrated and has to stay on your scalp for as long as you can keep it on ,, it will sting abit , then you rub it in and style your hair ,>> watch the gels and sprays or anything with alcohol in it . That will kill your scalp .Not sure of the name right now but it works and you will be fine until next season it tends to be seasonal, ,.

Check with your doctor... you might have psorisis. (don't worry, its more annoying then anything, and not contagious. just something your body does.)
If that is the cause of the flaking, then the doc can give you a shampoo that has a steriod in it that will help make the symptoms subside and clear your scalp.
I'd also recommend (as did another poster) the neutrogena t/gel shampoo. It coal tar in it that help reduce symptoms for dandruff and psoriasis also.

I suggest seeing a dermatologist, because I appeared to have dandruff, and like you, the dandruff shampoo didn't work either. Then I went to the dermatologist and discovered I have (scalp) psoriasis, so you might want to check into that

i went to college in New Jersey for 4 years and now i don't have dandruff anymore, i'm convinced it was the high level of chemicals in New Jersey water that got rid of it

Yeah, talk to your doctor or dermatologist, and you should be able to get a prescription shampoo that'll be stronger and work better than head & shoulders - or things of that nature.

when your in the sun make sure you have no part line in your hair, just brush your hair straight back, and you should try head and shoulders or this cheap horse shampoo , called main and tail, or somthing like that even though its for horses lots of people use it and it really works wonders

if the over the counters don't work like selsun blue, you can either go to a doc and ask for prescription strenght or you can put baby oil on your scalp and comb it out. it works great for cradle cap so it should for big kids too. hmmm, dunno, try it and see. i use it on my daughter and it works great. Don't use too much hair spray, gel, mouse, etc...it will flake it.
