My friend and I have recently gotten ahold of some boxing gloves and mouth gaurds. We are now boxing together and trying to start our own fight club. After we gather enough fighters, starting with our close friends, we will set up weight classes and some time after that begin betting on fights. Though it is illegal, who really cares.

The girls on this thread are already chiming in with the real answer to your question.
I realize that you are probably all of about 15 years old or so, and this seems like a great idea. If you are an adult... well there is no way you are an adult..
This is a really bad idea, first off not a single one of you are trained, which will result in injury, there is no one of you who is medically trained, which means even more injuries and no one knowing how to do anything about it, and thirdly, you are all going to get hurt, even if you don't know how to hit.
I realize you are just spouting this off and aren't really serious, and you and your buddy will have like two actual boxing matches with each other and then never see the gloves again, and this idea will end up in the toilet like so many other seemingly great adolescent ideas. So no sense in really telling you how retarded this idea is. But hey at least you are talking about weight classes, and you might even end up on backyardfights.com.
But best case scenario it actually works out and you gather enough idiots to participate. When one of said idiots gets seriously injured and his parents come raising all kinds of hell, and possibly sue everyone else's parents for not supervising their children enough to keep them from doing stupid crap, your little competition will end, and you all will be grounded.
If you are all above the age of 18, go for it man! I like to view that as Darwinism, hopefully the brain damage, and serious injuries will make you unattractive enough for any woman to want to mate with you, or you actually paralyze each other making you impotent, in either case humankind wins.
So if under 18, as you have to be... this is a dumb idea.
Over 18, still a dumb idea but at least you are only hurting yourselves.
p.s. No women do not like guys who dick around and beat on each other, first it makes you ugly, second it proves you are incredibly stupid and insecure, and thirdly it would be damn embarassing for her.

Macho guy = lonely guy. At least in most cases.
Women want to be listened to. Most don't care if you are a black belt/champion boxer -- and almost all hate fighters. Only reason you would start up a fight club is to have a nice game for bachelors. If you want women, try music, tennis, etc...macho attracts guys, not girls.

You're a idiot! 95% of women are turn off by guys who fight. Why do you think most professional fighter usually don't really talk about their fighting when they're out in public on their own spare time?
If women do like guys who fight, they like guys who are for real and a professional fighter with good record. You don't respect a boxer with record of 0-5, neither would the women. Plus the women who like fighter know real fighter when she see them. Most of my ex gf are totally turn off by any guys who claim to be a fighter or get in street fight but they are turned on by real fighter who fight in legal sanicated event with decent record.

Most chicks do not like fights. they are the life givers of our species. I actually keep my bruises covered from my wife as she detests them and says they look trashy.
Sure women appreciate someone who is capable of handling themselves if the sh!t goes down but i would not say they seek them out as mates.
The hot chicks you see with the fighters on TV like one thing about them, there $$$$$.
I am not saying that a fight club is a bad thing, I really don't know what yours is all about but if you are doing it for girls you are on the wrong path.

if you guys are enjoying it go for it; now the boring bit - safety first always! get some more rules, time outs, referees, medical back-up you probably figured this already. The ladies will not go for the fighting you describe, it more a mind thing with them, and a listening thing
