To work your triceps you need to exercise counter to your bicep workout. For bicep, you do curls, or pull the resistance. For the tricep, you extend, or push the resistance. Generally, you should balance your tricep and bicep workout.
A good combination workout (using free weights) is to use a bar for curls, and use the same weight and reps for an extension exercise sometimes refered to as a skull knocker. The extension exercise starts with the bar above your head, arms extended, elbow foreward. Lower the bar (by bending at the elbows) until it is just behind your head/shoulders, then return it to the extension.
You can also do this exercise on a bench. Again, start with the bar straight up (in front of your face), and lower it by bending at the elbows. Again, the bar should gently touch your head, then extend your arms back to straight.

i do tricep pushdowns, dips are great, close grip benching, overhead rope pulls, those are all good, also try grabbing a straight bar and do tricep extensions while lying down on a bench

I remembert "chin-ups" from gym class. I could rarely do pull-ups, but could do tons of chin ups.
